I bet if you looked hard enough in loonwatch.....you could find a church that worships 'k'....

Poked around a little, cuz I know k is (edited out fibbing, replaced w/) misleading..... again...

"The most recent swell of extremist violence began to emerge from right-wing militants in the late-1980s and 1990s. According to a 2005 FBI report on terrorism, these groups, which are "primarily in the form of domestic militias and conservative special interest causes, began to overtake left-wing extremism as the most dangerous, if not the most prolific, domestic terrorist threat to the country." Right-wing extremists champion a wide variety of causes, including racial supremacy, hatred and suspicion of the federal government, and fundamentalist Christianity. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks the activities of hate groups, suggests militia groups declined every year since 1996 but have seen a dramatic resurgence since 2008.

And

"LEFT-WING GROUPS: The FBI states leftist extremist groups "generally profess a revolutionary socialist doctrine and view themselves as protectors of the people against the "dehumanizing effects" of capitalism and imperialism." From 1960 to the mid-1980s, most acts of extremist violence were committed by leftist factions like the Weather Underground. A wellspring of disaffected, radical youth with ideological roots in the civil rights, women's liberation, and anti-war movements provided these groups with much of their militant fervor. However, broad left-wing violence has been in a marked decline since the fall of the Soviet Union and a successful FBI infiltration campaign in the mid-1980s.

Sounds about right and accurate.....and NOT from loonwatch...

Hey, I didn't say it was right. I just said it came from one of your approved sources (Thanks for pointing this out, Tweak). But here's the FBI breakdown for roughly the same time period.

The face of Religious Tolerance in the US

Now for some facts:

As of 2010, there were 2,595,000 Muslims in the US.
- This brings up an interesting question, all Muslims are terrorists, why haven't these American Muslims committed at least a few thousand terrorist acts? Suicide bombers on buses, schools, churches?
Wait, the liberal media is covering it up because Obama is a Muslim.

- Master At Arms Second Class Michael A. Monsoor, USN Seal, awarded US Medal of Honor for his actions in Ramadi, Iraq. Funny thing he was a Muslim, therefore anti-American.

-From 2001 to 2006 t's estimated that around 3,500 Muslim-American servicemen have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, with seven being killed. These seven must have been killed trying to kill non Muslim service members.

Funny thing, since 9/11 more Muslims have been killed by Muslim Extremists than any other religion, and during our active involvement in Iraq, at least 500 thousand Iraqi non combatants died either as a direct result of US military operations, or indirectly as a result in the region being destabilized by the invasion.

As stated in another thread, drone strikes are not surgically precise, there is a number of non intended casualties.

2,977 Americans died on 9/11. Even at a 10 to 1 revenge requirement, I do believe that we exceeded the number needed.

As I`m poking around...I`m seeing a tendency to classify "terrorism" differently.

If you look at rightie sourced stuff, they don`t regard white christian crime as terrorism......

The word "terrorist" in the rightie-alternate-world is now synonymous with Muslim and refers to brown people doing terrorism on American soil....Not lilly white Christians saving babies....

I recall Palin debating, trying to slip in the word terrorist in as many times as possible (fucking little cunt) to associate the President with terrorism(Muslim terrorism) when she was asked about abortion clinic bombers and she was dumb struck.....as if the the notion that the anti-abortion-right was the primary source for anti-abortion terrorism NEVER occurred to her.

The recent story about a black fellow getting his throat slit and an ear hacked off is domestic terrorism ........ in every sense and definition of the word.

As to the OP....k....There is no doubt the the bulk of American religious intolerance is sourced from the Christian right....

And Jesus, if that was the only harm they brought into the world,we would be so much better off.

Okay prospective...

Since 9/11 how many Americans have died in Muslim terrorist attacks? Hell how many non Muslims have died around the world as a result of Muslim terrorist attacks?

During the civil unrest in Egypt, Christians surrounded and protected Muslims at prayer, those Muslims repaid the favor by protecting a coptic church while Christians were inside praying.

I dont consider the billboard of the Atheist opinions hate speech, or the adults with imaginary friends hate speech.

I consider religious intolerance a crime against humanity when it involves the murder of innocents, along with ethnic cleansing, tribal feuds on the African continent, and members of the LGBT community being attacked or killed because of sexual preferences.

Hell my own denomination is probably responsible for more religion based killings than any other Christian denomination, Muslims, Hindu and any other religion in history. I happen to be Catholic.

However, the current favorite Boogy Man in the US is Muslims or gays, depending on who you talk to.

Not to mention Obama the idiot.

Hell, I am an Irish protestant (family) the most religiously discriminated against anglo in history. Right ? Hatred for and the presumption of Muslim intolerance, is the foundation for the ever-popular...fear factor. We are now always...to be afraid.

I am not defending their statement, but face facts, hate speech leads to major problems.

What some people see as "hate speech," others see as being "simply reasonable".

Insults are certainly rude, hurtful and unwelcome, but religious intolerance is another matter.

Let's try for some perspective.

K.

WOW. Those graphics are just rubbish and totally offensive. I have tolerance, until a group or individual shows themselves different. Categorizing one group as a whole is just wrong. Whether muslim, or Christian, or atheist, etc. That is how things explode, it just amazes me how blind people can be and everyone has to be right.

The distinction, is when you leapt to attack Kirata's post, you focused on loonwatch, applauded him on the 'looney sites" he visits, etc.

That's the distinction. Only when called out on your double standard did you adopt a revisionist history of it.

When a post that seeks only to point out the difference between speech and slaughter gets turned into "only Muslims are committing murder," somebody is either projecting or lying (again).

See if you can guess which.

Actually I used two links only one of which you have listed. The other link was:
http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/terrorism-2002-2005/terror02_05#terror_05sum

The loonwatch site credits its data source as the FBI site. So the original source for the data is the FBI site. Am I safe in assuming that we can all agree that the FBI data is both authoritative and neutral?

You are right. that would be as stupid as suggesting all religions are intolerant because of one sign.

May I point out that since 9/11, the sentiment expressed in that sign has been pretty common on the right side of the fence? I cannot say it is the majority, but it is a rarity to see someone on the right come out in disagreement on the sentiment, quite common for some to effectively avoid the subject all together, kinda like trying to ignore the elephant in the room.
