The face of Religious Tolerance in the US

[image]local://upfiles/622970/D99F8C5607CF4E858912C18213A47CD1.jpg[/image]

Now for some facts:

As of 2010, there were 2,595,000 Muslims in the US.
- This brings up an interesting question, all Muslims are terrorists, why haven't these American Muslims committed at least a few thousand terrorist acts? Suicide bombers on buses, schools, churches?
Wait, the liberal media is covering it up because Obama is a Muslim.

- Master At Arms Second Class Michael A. Monsoor, USN Seal, awarded US Medal of Honor for his actions in Ramadi, Iraq. Funny thing he was a Muslim, therefore anti-American.

-From 2001 to 2006 t's estimated that around 3,500 Muslim-American servicemen have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, with seven being killed. These seven must have been killed trying to kill non Muslim service members.

Funny thing, since 9/11 more Muslims have been killed by Muslim Extremists than any other religion, and during our active involvement in Iraq, at least 500 thousand Iraqi non combatants died either as a direct result of US military operations, or indirectly as a result in the region being destabilized by the invasion.

As stated in another thread, drone strikes are not surgically precise, there is a number of non intended casualties.

2,977 Americans died on 9/11. Even at a 10 to 1 revenge requirement, I do believe that we exceeded the number needed.

The USA has a long history of accepting minority faiths with open arms.

K, the image originated after a number of anti-Muslim acts in the US, including a fine upstanding Christian preacher threatening to burn a number of Q'urans.

I am not defending their statement, but face facts, hate speech leads to major problems.

The point I was trying to make is to assume that all Muslims are terrorists or anti American because of 9/11, considering the one sided body count since, really makes no sense what so ever.

That is like making an opinion of American Conservatives by on Ron or Rand Paul, or an opinion of white males in the US on Charles Manson.

jlf1961 -> RE: Religous Tolerance in the United States.... (2/18/2014 11:36:43 AM)

Okay prospective...

Since 9/11 how many Americans have died in Muslim terrorist attacks? Hell how many non Muslims have died around the world as a result of Muslim terrorist attacks?

During the civil unrest in Egypt, Christians surrounded and protected Muslims at prayer, those Muslims repaid the favor by protecting a coptic church while Christians were inside praying.

I dont consider the billboard of the Atheist opinions hate speech, or the adults with imaginary friends hate speech.

I consider religious intolerance a crime against humanity when it involves the murder of innocents, along with ethnic cleansing, tribal feuds on the African continent, and members of the LGBT community being attacked or killed because of sexual preferences.

Hell my own denomination is probably responsible for more religion based killings than any other Christian denomination, Muslims, Hindu and any other religion in history. I happen to be Catholic.

However, the current favorite Boogy Man in the US is Muslims or gays, depending on who you talk to.

Not to mention Obama the idiot.

Now that we`re bean-counting dead bodies and finger pointing.....how does the quarter million Muslims your republican party(who claim to be uber Christians) got killed in Iraq, figure in to this equation?

Please don`t make pretend they don`t count......

Kinda makes the "Christian-good/Muslim-bad" claim into bull shit.......

To the op in general and to our uber Christians in specific....

We in America enjoy the most religious freedom of anyone in the world.

We have more churches and places of worships per person and per square mile than any nation on earth.

We have almost no religious strife....accept for the un-necessary made up type and more inherent tolerance than any country on earth.

We live and let live here....that`s our tradition.....About the only things we generally reject are intolerance and the intolerant. But even the WBC .... is free to do their thing.

It`s not perfect but it`s getting better every day.

tweakabelle -> RE: Religous Tolerance in the United States.... (2/18/2014 3:32:51 PM)

According to FBI data, during the period 1980-2005, Muslims were responsible for 6% of terrorist acts committed in the USA. That means that 94% of all terrorist acts were carried out by non-Muslims. Interestingly Jewish terror groups were responsible for more terrorism than Iskamic terrorists (7% compared to 6%).
http://www.loonwatch.com/2010/01/not-all-terrorists-are-muslims/
http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/terrorism-2002-2005/terror02_05#terror_05sum

In the public mind mention of the term terrorist invariably conjures up an image of an Islamist fanatic. This suggests that the media has failed miserably in its obligation to convey the facts to the American public. Generally speaking, in terms of religious tolerance/intolerance America is one of the world's most tolerant countries. I'm sure that if the facts relating to the extent of real terrorist activity were known by the American people the current atmosphere of Islamophobia would vanish quick smart.

Thanks for pointing this out Tweek.....our "Christians" seem to completely put this awful truth out of their little minds....

The narrative ....(and stick to the Christo-fascist talking points)is scary Muslin brown people....ERRRR!

I hope I don`t hear one of our dopey republicans making pretend that only Muslims kill in the name of god.

Hopefully we can explore our republican Christo-fascist evangelicals spreading homosexual hate and bigotry and witch burnings committed by those good African Christains

deathtothepixies -> RE: Religous Tolerance in the United States.... (2/18/2014 4:16:51 PM)

religious tolerance

oxymoron

how did belief in a god get so twisted that it results in so much hatred and death?

It's pathetic

Anyone who pretends to believe in a god and ends up killing another human because of it is a fucking moron.

Throw away your moral crutches and think for yourselves
