Tattoos = Masochism - 7/7/2006 12:10:11 AM

Inspired by this week's thirteenth Overweight Subs thread I would like to ask if it is really true that any dominant who has more than one or two tattoos is really a masochist, and therefore a switch, and therefore not real and true and usually saddled with an addictive personality and probably having trouble with gender identification besides?

Just curious.

We can talk about piercing in a minute. I just wanted to get this straightened out first.

I am twue.

The only needles ever stuck in me, were to practice for making other peoples into pin cushions.

I'm a masochist, but tattooing doesn't trip my masochistic urges. A lot of people say they really enjoy getting tattoos. I hate the process. I tattoo because I like the tattoos, not because I like the pain.

So, from the point of view of a masochist, tattoos don't do anything for me except =hurt=

(sort of lost interest in tatoos when he saw 65 year old bikers who looked like they had been rolled on ink pads..Those things only look cool for the first five years-then they spread.)

Ha! Good one. I don't think it's true. If someone does have tatoos, I always assumed it's because they wanted tatoos.

Here's one to flame me for.......
Not everyone!!! But I think a lot of people who get many tats and large numbers of piercings are buying a personality. It makes them special or interesting, without the effort of actually being it. More common lately of course.
Of course there are many reasons. I don't make blanket statements. But a lot of people that seem to be the worst vacant losers, have tons of metal stuck in their faces, or lameass tats all over.
Flame away. But please note I said NOT EVERYONE fits this statement of opinion.

To admit....I have a partial, homemade, selfinflicted tat. Halfway through it I thought....what the hell?????? At 15 I could already think ahead a bit.....

I agree, I have seen people have some of the most dumbass things tattooed on them. Made me wonder what they were on, when they wandered into the parlor

I know I have mail - I appreciate the reminder. I do. I promise I will answer my mail (esp. if it's a good short story). I am the world's worst procrastinator. I apologize. I am over-reacting because I know I suck at answering mail - in general I suck at it. It's nobody's fault except mine. Some of my mail is...a lil' spooky - sometimes. Sometimes it's great. Nothing spooky I will detail (thank your lucky stars).

I do come out and admit I am slow with the mail even in my profile; I am hoping people take me at my word and are not offended. It's not about them - it's about my bad message board addiction, I do housework and other things, and also last time I was here I got some damned scary mail (not from anyone on this thread) . I almost stopped answering it altogether. Oh no (someone is now saying in their head, probably justifiably so): Here comes another "why is some mail so...so..." Hey I won't complain. People are nice. I am so proud I didn't go on with that. I should be grateful I get mail. I will open it - thanks for the patience.

I appreciate it. I am not whining at you. I am mad at myself because I can't sleep.
I need to sleep but I can't seem to do it. My dog is sleeping just fine - wish I knew the secret.

Not sure this fits into this thread but it is quite topical for me.  New Dom who has me under consideration, (what IS that really all about), wants to have me heavily pierced and tattooed.  Starting with my tongue....ouch....

I don't know how to handle the pain of it all or how to explain at work/family wtf is going on with me that would cause me to do that.

Any advice?

love from tendergirl

Yes and I am glad Noah started this thread. Yay Noah!

Fat chicks rule. My sister is a fat chick and a really nice person. I am not dating her - but even  I was a hetero guy, if I didn't want to I wouldn't have to right?
But enough of that.

Tatoos are NOT *(to me) a sign of anything. They are a signal the person wanted a tatoo, fer cryin' out loud.

i would have to agree with perverseangelic... i have 4 tattoos. The first, coz my first Master wanted to mark me in some way, and so we chose my fairy together. the 2nd and 3rd ones, coz i liked the symbolism (2 blue birds, 1 on ether side of my tummy). one woz for nature, the other woz for nurture. and the last one i got i kinda regret now, coz i woz drunk and sad and angry, and just needed "something". with hindsite, i wish i had fallen off the curb and grazed my knee or something, but there you go - lol

and apart from my ears, all i got pierced is my belly button... and i think that's more a fashion statement than anything else.

luv,

I apologize for unitentionally hi-jacking this thread. It is about Tatoos.

What do they say about someone?

Do I personally like them? If I really like someone, it's moot - if they have a few, fine. I would not be attracted, I guess to a guy who was The Illustrated Man. If they don't have any, I wouldn't encourage it, but then it's not my decision if they don't ask me.

My dog doesn't worry much - of course he has a pretty good life for a dog. He has some "weight issues" too (which are completely and totally my fault. Plus, Beagles have the slowest metabolism of any breed).

In keeping with the thread - my dog doesn't have a tatoo.

I forgot to add: But I know he is a homosexual and also a masochist because he likes Kibbles and Bits and not Beneful. I feel so guilty. What did I do wrong?! (not a slam to either; it's a joke).
