I have a bread machine I rarely use as well.
I bake as part of my job and I really only use it when I'm feeling very lazy- I much prefer to make bread myself. I do like the jam settings on mine though! Cause I HATE making jam myself.

I inherited my Mother's Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I think its the classic series, red in color. It is every bit of 30+ years old. I have had it for the last 10. When in the USA I used it regularly. Made every thing from cake/pies to using attachments for making sausage and beef jerky.

I have my grandmothers Sunbeam from the 1950s. But my kids thought I needed a new one a few years back and got me the KitchenAid Pro Line Series 7-Qt Bowl from Overstock. They paid less than 1/2 the retail. As good as the new one is, I still use my grandmothers for her cake recipes.

I got my Kitchen Aid mixer about 15 years ago, and loved it. I used it all the time. It was heavy but worth its weight. Then two years ago I moved, and the movers dropped it on its head. I didn't notice until a few weeks later. I tried it to see if it still worked even with the dent, but it made a horrible noise and gave off a hot, electrical smell. I had to dispose of it, and I've yet to replace it. I miss it though, and would have replaced it by now if not for the price.

25 year old 5 qt. It's a workhorse. However it doesn't have the tilt head. If I was buying a new one, I'd want the tilt head to make it easier to add ingredients. As it is now, I usually stop it, lower the bowl, add an ingredient and then turn it back on.

I brought one a few years ago...professional grade, in a black color. Bo has it and though he claims he never uses it, I caught him making bread with it. Lizard uses it for making cookies. It has been used heavily and I plan to buy the pasta attachment for Bo (he loves making his own pasta) for Christmas.

If the Sunbeam has a dough hook, it is great. I got the Kitchen Aid though.

I think that would work well. The dough hooks are the best. Try and stay away from stainless steel bowls, though. They are a bit light for heavy bread dough imo.

It comes with a stainless steel bowl, but I have a large heavy porcelain bowl meant for bread making.

Not sure it will fit, but I *have* bowls.
