Got my sports car last year. Love it. The silver streaks look good and I've had more 20 something subs crawling over me this last 18 months than in my entire life before. RAWR!

Wait...you just turned 48 and you're just now going gray? If that's the case, seems you've actually been "lucky".

If my vote counts for anything, it's no hair dye and a Harley.
I do find men with gray hair to be sexy and I know I'm not alone in that thinking. For me, it makes a person look even more confident, which is really sexy.

I've been trying to get my husband to buy a bike. He'll entertain the idea then change his mind. Maybe I need to wait for his midlife crisis to kick in.

second this one....my partner is 38 and he is already grey

In his case he does dye his hair but he already did so before I met him and I am happy with his choice in that respect as I do feel for him that 38 is a bit early for grey...so he seriously would be happy if he would not have turned grey that early...

Though I also have to say....take the Harley

My ex's grey was noticeable in his beard, and I thought Just for Men did a great job covering it. Perhaps the people who are not getting good results are not using the right shade or technique.

I deal with my grey by plucking, which I'm happy to say, is still manageable despite me being right behind you. My sister, on the other hand, started going grey in her 20s.

Maybe she was flirting? Yeah, stone cold fox like you, definitely she was flirting.

If you've ruled out the Harley and the tbucket, maybe something along these lines would fill the same role?

Maybe this would be more appropriate, given your (much, much, advanced) age:

That made me feel a lot better. And while I'd love me some HD action, realistically, my back won't take it (if I can't pick a bike up when it's fallen over, I won't ride it). And while I'd also go for some classic American iron in the form of a '70 Mach 1 Mustang, it'd be a weekend show car. I like a driver, and I like little cars, so I was thinking along these lines:

Re: cane and walker-Tommy, I'm making one of those as we speak. I've got an old shingling hammer I'm using as the handle (with a leather overwrap to make it more 'street-friendly') and I have an oak sapling that's curing in my neighbor's garage rafters for the handle. The walker needs a flame job, and maybe we'll talk...

AHEM!  63 year-old "old fart" here.

The checkers ARE supposed to ask.  BUT!  They're supposed to ask "Any discounts today?" and smile a sweet smile.  Many thrifts also discount to vets.

Full head-o-hair. (Thanks! Grandpa for following wives' tale that men "get" their maternal Granfather's hair.)  Used "stache/beard for Men" until all the grey was very even, then the application came out even and truly looked "painted on."  So, being the tastefull gay man that I am, I nixed that idea.

Some gray at temples, and a stark white 'stache.  People usuually guess me 10 years under - I've even had to ASK for my discount. LOL!

My contribution to this thread? Nada.  Just bragging.

I knew this thread would stir the pot. Not really a whine, but she could have at least asked first instead of merely assuming from my hair and my cane. I've actually had grey hair most of my life, it's just now it's starting to take over. I have no intentions of using dye, as it make my and the GF look around the same age when we go out (she's 9 years older than I am), so it's all good.

And I'm not going to freak out anymore over my age. I had my moment the other day, and I didn't like it, so I don't intend to allow it to bother me anymore. Buuuuutttt...the sports car and nineteen year old hardbelly fantasy is a pretty cool one. I'm smiling in my 'dangerous' way right now thinking about it.

I am not sure why people are so against hair coloring for men?
We usually tell women they look great when they touch up their greys.

I got my first unpigmented hair right before I turned 29.

Don't worry about the senior discount. Some people are BAD at guessing ages. And it's also possible that they overcharged you for something and were too lazy or rushed to bother getting a manager to void the mistake. Where I used to work, voids were a huge pain in the butt, so workarounds to get the total right or a few cents in the customer's favor without voiding anything happened a lot.

Rent a car when you want to play! Then you don't have all the expense of owning it but you can still zip around town feeling great.

Lotus Elise's aren't a common sight on rental-car lots, I'm afraid to say. Occasionally, you'll see a Mustang or Camaro, maybe even a 'Vette, but they're not the same thing. American iron drives and handles differently than a Euro-styled sports car, more 'thud and blunder' than 'spirited performance'.

NO HAIR DYE.

I also know a really good joke about sports cars.
But I fear it may not translate well over the internet. Maybe I'll decide to post it later if I figure out how to word it well.

ETA:
I found someone else who had typed it out...

An elephant was walking through the jungle one day when suddenly he fell into a hole. "Help!" he yelled. A mouse heard his cry for help and came running. When the mouse finally made it to the elephant, the elephant said, "Please Mr. Mouse, if you save me I'll be your best friend forever." The mouse agreed, and told the elephant to wait just a second. The mouse came back in his corvette, tied a rope around the elephant, and pulled him out.

A few days later the mouse was walking through the jungle when all of a sudden, he fell into a hole. The mouse yelled for help, and soon that same elephant that he had saved just a few days earlier came to the rescue. The mouse said to the elephant, "Remember me? I'm that same mouse that saved you from a hole. Could you please help me?" The elephant agreed to help him. The elephant did not have a corvette so he just dropped his penis down in the hole. The mouse climbed up the elephant's penis and was safe.

The moral of a story, if you have a big dick, you don't need a corvette.

Great punch line.

FR-
I actually like grey on men and women.

After my mom's thyroid cancer she decided to stop dying her hair (she didn't lose it though so idk...just something that she fell out of the habit with after surgery I guess) and I think she looks tremendous and beautiful grey.

And I've always loved the silver foxes since I was jail bait- so thats why I tell them not to dye it- I simply find it attractive.

Wasn't sure whether to do another "I Admit" on this one. I went to a munch Wednesday (hey, I tell newbies to do it, practice what you preach, right?). It's okay, nothing major. I'm going through my wallet and I look at the receipt. Now I'll admit I just turned 48 and the other day I had my first 'mid-life crisis' event, for lack of a better word. I look at this thing, and see that the cashier gave me the senior citizen discount. I'm forty fucking eight. I know I'm going gray early (genetics), but come on! Maybe the kid thought she was doing me a favor, maybe not. (Oh God, I said kid 'that way').

So, whattaya think? Sports car or Harley? Although I don't have the money for either, I never say never. The nineteen year old hardbody is going to be de rigeur in this situation, of course. Or should I just cheap out and get hair dye? I'm at a loss here, people.

Bud....I dated a 35 year old chic 2 or so years back, fucking amazing red hair...down to her butt...we went to the ocean one weekend, we go in, as we register, the counter girl says "OH!!! We're happy to give you you're room at half off Mr JJ"....first time that had ever happened to me....it's all good....just have your insurance paid up.

Maybe a skateboard instead?

I say shaved head and Harley.
However, I'm scared of bikes...so maybe the car. But
it has to be convertible. And get a cute dog.. Bitches love dogs.
Lol

I have seriously considered shaving my head, not because I'm balding or for the grey, but just because I hate dealing with it when it starts getting long. At the same time, I like keeping it to piss off my peers who are going bald, because I can. The Harley may be happening later this year. A buddy of mine has a basket-case in his shop he'd be willing to part with for a reasonable price. Only thing I need is a new front-end and somewhere to put it together.

MasterCaneman, I really am trying to help you out here. You see, I never really experienced this thing you are talking about. I never had the desire to buy a European sports car, now a new 4x4 Dodge crew cab pickup heavy duty, yeah. More guns, definitely, younger women, well kinda, worrying about gray hair, I gave that up at 22 when I was more gray than anything.

But I found these that may help.
