If the lunatic fringe is implying the big difference between Islam and Christianity/Judaism is the body count....they would be correct.....It`s going to take a few more timothy mcveighs/abortion bombers to even the body count.

When one considers the US evangelical`s influence on Uganda`s gay-crime laws and how many Muslims shrub got killed in his great murder/torture adventure, the numbers and malfeasance doesn`t seem so lop sided.

I dont use the word nazi unless its been used in a conversation..in fact in 8 years, Ive used the nazi word 15 times.....
however,
call it as you see it...i couldnt care less.
you dont see discrimination and intolerance????, I feel sorry for you..maybe because its not against a creed, but freedom FROM religion.
blinker calibration fluid is on aisle seven

Drawing a parallel between the wholesale slaughter of everyone who believes in a different religion, including even a different interpretation of Islam, and our political disputes over birth control and gay marriage suggests to me a person in desperate need of "calibration fluid" for something other than his or her eyes.

K.

Ah well its a good thing I didnt compare them, let alone draw a parallel...
however, that you determine the anti gay and anti abortion crowd to be only a political discussion I wont be back
enjoy the fray

It's not the same scenario, but it doesn't have to be. It was still religious discrimination and intolerance. Muslims had places to pray in NY, already. This wouldn't have been the first mosque.

Of course its not the same scenario, thats the whole fucking point. You seem to think you need to point out the fact that extreme terrorists, are indeed extreme terrorists. How the hell you can keep a straight face by introducing peaceful Muslims wishing to build a Mosque into the equation is beyond me.

It's only one little group in one city. I am sure this practise is nowhere to be seen in the rest of the world, rest assured. 99% of muslims are very peacefull people loving christians and jews with all their hearts. and minds.

our political disputes over birth control and gay marriage

you determine the anti gay and anti abortion crowd to be only a political discussion

You don't have to be "anti-gay" to have reservations about gay marriage, or "anti-abortion" to question the birth control mandate.

This would be a good time to consider The First Law of Holes.

Can you give us some examples of those non-anti-gay reservations and let us decide that that`s a bunch of anti-intellectual crap?

Well, let me put it into short words for you, then...

Bad things were said about those people who were against the mosque being built where it was sited. And, not that you get it, but those who opposed the mosque being built because it was a mosque, were bigoted against Muslims/Islam.

Now, we have Muslims that are being bullies (wouldn't want you to get lost with a form of the word oppression) against Christians simply because they oppose Christianity. Religious bigotry all the same, no?

And, the example I brought up wasn't about Muslims wanting to build a mosque, but about the furor that happened because they wanted to build the mosque. My example was bigotry against Muslims.

Religious bigotry is religious bigotry, regardless of whether it's against Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhist, Atheists, etc.

Whoosh, and reality flies right over your head. This isnt about Muslim bigotry, its about terrorist extortionism to build funds.

I said in post 12 the sources you quoted where alarmist bullshit.

You replied in post 13 "So thats okay" You also said "call a spade a spade"

I will go one better and call your bullshit, bullshit, and your flimsy attempt to link terror with building a mosque, more bullshit.

You do see the difference between a Muslim and a terrorist organisation, do you not ?

Check it out Lucy.....can give it but CAN`T take it....[:D]

Awwwwww[8|]

That comment makes you defensive,k?

In a forum of words and ideas, you come up short quite often......

Annie-who ....

I call bullshit on that assertion and challenge anyone (with some balls, that is) to defend it.

chatterbox24 -> RE: Dhimmi status is back in style (3/2/2014 8:00:32 AM)

......I don't think we made Muslims pay with their lives or tax them double or triple to worship how they want. ITS THEIR RIGHT. It wasn't good judgment to put a mosque there at that particular time.

But family members of the people who died at ground zero might not be full of forgiveness, and might hold some huge resentment whether right or wrong, due to the nature of the deaths. For them it might simply be like being forced to live next to a murders family, even if they had nothing to do with the heinous crime their family member committed, it effects those people hurt.. Some people will have forgiveness in time, some will never have it.

Politesub53 -> RE: Dhimmi status is back in style (3/2/2014 8:26:57 AM)

If we cant distinguish between terrorists and ordinary Catholics/Muslims/Protestants, then we may as well give up on humanity. It is also wrong to suggest those seeking a Mosque to worship in were family members of those who committed the crime.

I was not suggesting they were family members, I was suggesting the peoples families members who were killed might have huge resentment and mistrust.

Can you show us these folks.....who they are.

I`ve seen plenty of bigots who claim to speak for the "families",lying and misrepresenting just about everything about the mosque, including it`s location.

No, sorry I cant. I can only try to relate or theorize how others might feel, I don't think that is the definition of a bigot. But anyway.....

Whoosh!

Meaning flies right by you...

It's religious bigotry to extort money from Christians simply because they are Christians.

It's religious bigotry to oppose a mosque to be built simply because it's a mosque.

The "bad guys" in these two situations are not both Muslims. In the first, it's Muslim extremists, or Muslim terrorists being bigoted against Christians.

In the second it's non-Muslims being bigoted against Muslims.

How is it you aren't following that?
