Not necessarily. If you or your chosen sex partners aren't skilled at lovemaking in your fleeting encounters, chances are there won't be the kind of trust that develops in LTRs to grow together. On the other hand, when you have a partner who is open to sexual exploration, you build upon your experiences.
When you find one worth keeping, there's no need to look elsewhere.
