A guy taking me out and I would have to worry that he's overextending himself would completely ruin the evening, I'd try and order the cheapest dish instead what I really want, worry if he'd be insulted if I suggest that I chip in, also it would have me on the defensive if he doesn't expect "payment", wouldn't work.

As for a guy taking me shopping, I got to know somebody really really well, I have a few friends in LA who like to take me shopping and I know they can easily afford it, we usually argue a lot where to go, I prefer outlets and thrift shops and their idea of a mall is the Beverly Hills Shopping Center, which usually results in me sniffing indignantly and declaring "Only amateurs pay full retail prices!"

Personally, I mostly do fine dining six days a week for dinner but if you're looking for a reasonable fine dining restaurants that serves large portions you can try Houston's, The Grand Lux, and Mortons. The mind set behind expensive restaurants is their clients and those small portions maybe over 700 calories they need their clientele coming back not going on a diet because they're getting fat... The drinks they serve you're not going to get at a regular restaurant and their service is amazing. However, once in a blue moon I'll go to regular restaurant where the servers, managers, and entire staff have bad attitudes. The consumers is not their main priority, it's being on their cell phones, chatting with their coworkers, and getting upset when you actually make them do their jobs forgetting that you're the one who actually tip them. The funny part is they come back talking that you under tip and I have to explain that I tip based on performance and their service was horrible.

Okay, you have a date with that special someone. You really want to make a good impression.

Now dining out is a given.

Now, the things you really have to consider.

Fast food, cheap and decent food.

Pizza restaurants. Good food, who doesnt like pizza? Cost a bit more.

The choices continue of course until

Fine Dining Restaurant. Expensive, lots of ambiance and that wallet breaking meal has the smallest serving portions of all choices.

Seriously, nice big fancy plate with a third of the surface area used for food placement.

Oh yeah, you made a big impression, she is thrilled with the experience, and you have just informed her that when it comes to her, money is no object, say good bye to your spare cash, that nice car you want and of course, while you shop for her at the nice places, you are gonna get your clothes at Walmart, on sale.
