The Qualities and Attributes that have been the Collarme format since the beginning is fading to Me.
Ive seen it happen to so many other sites that address Our Alternate Ways online and it saddens Me
to the point when I have to leave such places to the normal infultration from the vanilla world that bleed
out who We are to a substandard that kills off the very Qualities and Attributes that bring a Alterante
Group together in the first place. There was a time that like minded to Me was present, But they have
long gone and as I often am told that I hold on to long to things, Ive always hoped that this place would
keep its originality to it. But Collarme has changed. I cannot put My finger on just what or why but its not
Collarme anymore to Me. It no longer speaks to My kinks or differances or tolerances or being.
So I think its time to move on with the likeminded to Me who have left long ago
to places that are better suited to the Extream Differances that We Outcastes Live and Thrive with.
And leave this place to the pastel colored lifestylers who walk the halls and hail for normal actions to get
alone with societys norm. Im retiring from Collarme and intermingling with those who see Me here as crazy,
weird, insane and unaccepted. Time to go and blow My money and travel to see the United States alone instead
of work , work , work, and come here and try to enlighten those without a clue. All You half steppers can take
a deap breath now and blow out knowing Im now gone and work on your agendas to a normal society.

MD,

I believe what you are witness to is the growth of the site with the corresponding growth of nonsense that comes with a big increase of newcomers.

They all deserve a chance to learn and partisipatie.

good Firtune to your journey

it's remarkable to notice how grammar and spelling skills is fading at the same rate as The Qualities and Attributes that have been the Collarme format. mayhaps its just a coincidence.

Dread I've been feeling the same way for sometime too and it's only tonight that I have felt like putting a message on the boards having frequented the site very little in the past month or so and I find myself lamenting the passing of 'kink' as it gives way to something not quite as, well, damn kinky.

Even though you're gone already ..may your travels be safe  :)

Wishing You all the best in Your journey. i haven't been on this site that long but do see the change from an informative sharing to a lot of bitching and complaining etc. But i'll continue for those whose insight i do value.

DREAD, we have been friends for a long time now. I understand your reasonings and why you left other areas as did I. You know how to contact me my friend. I may even join you and either leave here completely or just reduce my participation here.

Funny,

I was thinking about posting the complete opposite of this thread.  While there are the inevitable idiots and drama king/queens I have found some very insightful and thought provoking people on this list and far less acrimony than I have seen on others.

I have been on "Frenzi" an email list out of San Francisco that has many of the greenery press authors and other luminaries, real and imagined, on it.  There were certainly interesting people there but it lacked the civility and in some ways the openness of this site.

Dread, I will miss you and I think we will be poorer without you.  As a newcomer myself, I don't know what I missed but I do know what I have found.

I seriously hope not mate, your contributions and friendship would be missed by many.

Dread, apart from that bloody terrible and damn near impossible to read font you mostly choose to use, some of your posts I enjoyed, others I thought you talked out of your arse... but one thing I always respected is, like myself, you were yourself and don't give a flying feck of other peoples reactions to it. If they liked it, great, if they didn't, well thats their problem.

Fairwell and good luck

MistressDREAD,

I feel much the same as you.   And I have seen many a good site go under due to lack of interest and from political pressure.

This Website and Forum was created for us.  And although the administrators try to keep the peace, it is really up to us as a community to police ourselves.

I think that we are all representatives of this site, and it is our obligation to try to build it into a positive resource for the comunity, an island of eduction in a sea of misunderstand, and a safe-haven for those who yearn for honest answers.

CollarMe is an excellent BDSM Website.  And as members, we can either hang together as a group, or simply let it slip through our fingers.

MistressDread,
I'm sorry to hear you will be leaving. You are right, collarme has changed a great deal and I too, miss many of the wonderful voices that are now silent. The loss of yours will also create a void. Be well wherever the road may take you and thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your experiences....you contributions have benefited many.

As a newcomer I cannot say I have had a huge opportunity to read your posts. I will say that I have been involved with another internet group (not BDSM related) over the course of 4 years that "seemed" to change. It had not changed, it was ME that changed. We all grow and different things become of more value to us than others once were... it is the way our lives evolve. We out grow friendships, careers, romantic relationships, and interests... it is normal.

May you find what you seek..... I may myself one day become bored with CM, or may find it is not useful in my walk, but hopefully it will continue to be useful to others. It isn't a value judgment for me when I outgrow something and desire other things in my life... It just means that isn't where my headspace is. For now CM serves an important purpose for me.

You will be missed. I have not really spoken to you, but what I have read of your thoughts and ideas I find as well balanced. You will be missed. My the fates smile on you.

Few things in life are perfect....  I try to extract from a source what I can use, enjoy, learn from, or otherwise, and cast aside the rest of the nonsense.  When everything becomes nonsense to you, then perhaps it's time to move on.  I think CM is one of the better free sites on the net... even if sometimes you have to wade through the crap to find something meaningful.

Good luck to you Lady with the hard-to-decipher, red font.

Mistress,  i hope You might reconsider... now that i can Read Your posts, i'm curious to what i might have missed.   Would You consider giving it one more month to abandon ship? As You obviously know, online communities cycle and shift, and the departure of the "old regulars" usually hastens the least positive shifts.

Maybe in the time before You "retire", You could re-introduce some topics You found especially enlightening, positive, thought provoking, etc.?

She'll be back, this is too big of an audience for her to ignore.

Ok, what's the over/under on this one?

MistressDread,
May your journey be eventful and your heart be strong. Good luck in all that you do. I notice that you are one of the first few to post here on CM and the fact that you have stayed this long is a tribute to your patience. I will miss your words.

I have to say that I think MD had a lot of very valuable ideas and thoughts and was a great contributor to the CMMB.

However, the more dramatic the exit....I give her 2 months.
