RosaB -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 1:34:40 PM)

She's gone, but I had for some time been thinking similar thoughts.  However, things change, people move on, hopefully the new will make it their home and make good use of the CM forums, as I think  was intended.  maybe, while tripping over their feet and getting past the excitement of finding out they have a place they can shout out all their most private thoughts, the newer members might bring a freash perspective to the boards.   Nothing ever stays the same in life, to a great degree that's a good thing..

We're all bitching about something at some point it seems.  [:)]    Ah be it here or somewhere else, there will be another time for great minds to gather, educate and share brilliant thoughts.

MistressDread, good luck to you. You come across as a real Lady, a wise one.

i may leave too. CM is a great spot with a lot of great people.

trolls.... [8|]

Thank you all, especially our hosts, those who make CM possible.

WhiteRadiance -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 6:25:31 PM)

MD I hate to see you go too. Though  I have not been here long, I may retire from these forums myself.  It seems the more outspoken people are not well received, so I tend to censor myself, which is sad in a way.

Good luck to you.

SusanofO -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 6:27:34 PM)

I don't know if I ever told you this, Mistress Dread - but I have always, always always enjoyed reading what you write. I never mettered to me how long the post was - I always read your posts. They were so spot on. I really hope you re-consider. I would really miss you.

The Qualities and Attributes that have been the Collarme format since the beginning is fading to Me.
Ive seen it happen to so many other sites that address Our Alternate Ways online and it saddens Me
to the point when I have to leave such places to the normal infultration from the vanilla world that bleed
out who We are to a substandard that kills off the very Qualities and Attributes that bring a Alterante
Group together in the first place. There was a time that like minded to Me was present, But they have
long gone and as I often am told that I hold on to long to things, Ive always hoped that this place would
keep its originality to it. But Collarme has changed. I cannot put My finger on just what or why but its not
Collarme anymore to Me. It no longer speaks to My kinks or differances or tolerances or being.
So I think its time to move on with the likeminded to Me who have left long ago
to places that are better suited to the Extream Differances that We Outcastes Live and Thrive with.
And leave this place to the pastel colored lifestylers who walk the halls and hail for normal actions to get
alone with societys norm. Im retiring from Collarme and intermingling with those who see Me here as crazy,
weird, insane and unaccepted. Time to go and blow My money and travel to see the United States alone instead
of work , work , work, and come here and try to enlighten those without a clue. All You half steppers can take
a deap breath now and blow out knowing Im now gone and work on your agendas to a normal society.

Same Dread

I agree with you Dread the CM boards sure aren't what they used to be. We used to come here and have engaging conversations about WIITWD and our kinks.

We were unfortunitly inflitrated with a bunch of old Chat Room Addicts who do nothing but Hi-Jack threads with their meaningless chat room type chit chat. It's almost like being back in High School.
They are obcessed with such topic's as, women's weight, the national news, problems with their animals, well I know you aware of all the crap that has very little to do with what CM was all about in earlier days.

You are one who would never seem "crazy" to me and I enjoyed the sharing of your wisdom here. I  experienced you as an intelligent colorful entity and I always got something out of your posts.  When I saw your big red fonts I knew I had a good chance of learning something. I will miss your presence.
May you find relaxation and great people and places along your travels.

Obviously, You should do what is right for You, but, as others pointed out, some voices are silent now, and if more continue to go silent then the change you speak of will happen more quickly.

I agree that alot is changing on CM, and it is not like "the old days" (at least at my beginning here, I know you have been here much longer than I).  The founding ideal though, was to let the members be themselves with their individual kinks and beliefs, and to respect those.  That still holds true;  just because their lifestyle may be different than what "old timers" think is "true, real, and right" does not diminish the fact that those ARE their beliefs.

I will miss Your posts, and although You may be tired, I am surprised You are walking away.  I wish You the best.

Caretakr -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 7:53:10 PM)

I went in and deleted my profile earlier today. I've been doing this real life since about 1995, and I probably had a lot to offer this community.

But you know, I am like Dread. I'm tired of the immaturity, the bullshit, and the narrow-minded attitudes. I don't know why I bother coming back to thse places, they only dissilusion me.

You guys wonder what happened to the old school?

You happened to us. That's why we leave.

littlesarbonn -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 7:56:47 PM)

Wow, that's sad. She and I spoke through messages just yesterday about my leaving to go to California. Tried to convince me to go to Florida instead, although very much tongue in cheek, I assumed.

SirKenin -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 7:59:18 PM)

Do not let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I have always, in My years of perusing forums, wondered about the mentality of the posters who post these dumb ass posts.  If you are going to go, go.  These big drawn out "I am leaving because..." posts are retarded.  Nobody really cares, although some will pretend they do.  Good riddance.  You have a beef.  So what.  There will be plenty more to replace you.  You are an attention whore and nothing more.  If it was only about the leaving you would have just left and got it over with.

Of course, this is not the first of this type of post I have seen and responded to in this manner.  I just think they are pathetically retarded.

smilezz -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 8:19:02 PM)

Hmmzz...wonders why my original post to this was removed.  I was nice damnit!  *chucklez*

Happy Friday y'all!!

Do I point out the irony, or merely remain silent, like Vimalakirti?

SirKenin ..

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I think if you are unhappy then GO!  But if you must go... go QUIETLY!   Sure, there are some who will miss you, but I don't know you so I don't care.  Yes the site has changed but we all know nothing stays the same.    I am sure you will let us all know if you find "nirvana" on some other site.

MistressLorelei -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 8:38:09 PM)

While I do think it's a shame when someone ceases to partake in something she once enjoyed... I do see a pattern of the 'old school kinksters' finding the need to get away from  here, due to appearance of new blood.  I think that's unfortunate.  Times change, new people find the lifestyle, and may not be exactly like those you have known in the past, but  it doesn't mean we are necessarily narrow-minded, just different minded than you are.

Fresh perspectives, new people, new situations, new stories and opinions are meant to be embraced.  But, instead, many of you have acted as if the 'evil newbies' have invaded your territory, and wrecked the lifestyle for everyone.  That seems more narrow-minded than anything I have read from a newbie.

Just my opinion... though I'm fairly new here.

Level -> RE: Retirement from Collarme (7/7/2006 8:43:27 PM)

Well said, Lorelei. If Dread leaves, I'll miss her, she was pleasant to be around. Of course, there are some who suck the air out of a room, and would not be missed....... however, those are usually the ones that blather about going, but you can't quite get their ass out the door............ LOL Bless you, Sir!

Anyways, off topic somewhat, how long have the CM boards been around?  I always see people say they're 'new' or 'old', but never read any time line.  One member said the OP was one of the first to post on the boards, so they were created around the same time as the OP's join date, yes?

In any event, I was a member of a forum through my mid teens and in the past 18 months or so I grew away from it, it just didn't have the same spark.  New people join, the direction fo the posts shift, such is life.  For me, it's like God's way of making sure i don't fuck off in front of the screen for too long, I tend to get compulsive about reading up what I "missed"...on a site this huge, it takes plenty of time.  Luckily, I knew I was in over my head and didn't try, but it still had its addictive phase.

I'm sure she'll soon be investing a whole whack of time into another site and CM will be another faded memory...and that's not a bad thing.

You don't pull any punches brother. No offense to Dread; I’ve like / liked many of her posts, but this whole mentality '' Some posters have went silent because....'' is utterly ridiculous. What kinda person are you, really, if you run off because there are changes or there are people you don't like? Live with it... embrace change and get along. Don't let anyone run ya off.

If you’re gonna leave, why tell the whole world?  Leave because your life has changed or because you've found a partner or a new job, and don't have time anymore. Using others as an excuse or because you don't like a certain mod, is plain-ass sad. Hell…. I know two women I really like who will no longer participate because they don’t like ‘’such and such’’ Mod – I tell them both, all the time… that they’re just silly.

When me and my brother were growing up and we came in the house from playing with other kids, because someone picked on us or we didn't like someone, my father would get hella mad and make us go back outside. If we came in crying again, he pushed us into the corner and told us to get our hands up and we took some body shots. It wasn't long before we grew thicker skin and never used another kid as an excuse again.

I've been part of a message board very similar to this -- that involves the discussion of certain types of antiquities -- for the last eight years. It’s gone through tons of change and tons of people; that's just the way it is. Take it or leave it, but don't cry about it - That's the owner’s policy.

My Dom constantly says, adapt or perish, the only thing in life that is constant is change..(or was that Darwin?)

I hope you will reconsider MistressDread. I have lways enjoyed your posts and will certainly miss you.  I have especially admired your honesty and outspokenness. She is right about how the site has changed. When i came back from my 6 mo. leave from CM i became very picky about which threads i followed, learned to skip most of the repetitive ones and the rants.

For those who asked, i know she joined before i did, and i joined in jan 2004.
