I'd wager almost everyone on this board has had negative experiences directed towards them because of race. You don't own it, we all do. Sorry. It is well possible, that a white person could have negative things done to them because they were white. Or is that impossible to you? Would you give the same response if it were a black person stating the same about whites?

I don't discount his experience at all... I simply replied that what he has experienced is an everyday occurence with people of color (related to myself or not). Show me where I attacked him, and I'll remove it! He said he got over it, but I don't believe it... Are you going to make me? I would NEVER ask for sympathy (or understanding) especially from you NeedToUseYou. You know just as you said you learn about people on the boards, you too have impressed me on the boards. M

HPV is proven to cause cervical cancer in women. Your choices could have disasterous long term health consequences for you. My conscious is clear as I've educated you. Now you do as you wish. What if a black person beats me up calling me whitey or white-boy? Is that not the exact same thing? Is previous history a justification for such behavior? Now, I may not be a phillanthropist (way to cynical for that), nor am I a saint. Is that a reason to discount my experience? If that's the case, then why sould anyone care what happened to black people? Unless you are proposing that all black people are phillanthropic saints only trodden upon by non-blacks. Interesting. All black people are perfect. Others, not. I'm sorry, but that does sound a bit racist. I have examined my self on the count of racism and the reasons for racist thoughts. Perhaps you should do the same. Try to use logic and reason, and not knee-jerk emotionalism. As for my racism, I AM over it. I am now just a general curmudgeon: humanity generally stinks. I now assume all to be corrupt and evil until I get to know them on an individual basis. Whether you believe me or not is of little consequence to me. I do not care. Well said marcpiery. If people can't see the racism in the phrase "advance the cause of black people" they should be ashamed of themselves. Try "advancing the cause of people who need it", otherwise you're creating the very segregation that civils rights activists fought to end.
