According to the article, they are suing for an amount "in excess of $15,000."

In a lawsuit, you sue for the amount of actual damages per your estimate plus punitive damages. The judge and jury set an actual amount.

Could end up being millions if Barr is obnoxious in court.

Yeah, Kirata, if I'm not mistaken, they had to sell their house and move?

I am quite sure that the final amount (if there is an award) will be in the six figures.

Two reasons:

1) Very few decent houses can be had for under 100k these days

2) These were older people who were probably very happy in that house; had lived there for a good portion of time ... maybe raised their children there. In my mind that speaks to emotional damage which equals punitive damages.

Kirata, maybe you can help us out with this: In some states, there are "levels" of lawsuits (damages) as far as filing the paperwork; not necessarily statutory requirements. Could this be the case in Florida?

This has about as much to do with George Zimmerman as Islam had to do with the 11 SEP 2001 attacks.

Roseanne posted the parents' address. Apparently, she also called for a lynch mob-type situation (I'm not saying whether she did or didn't).

I hope you never run afoul of the law and have your parents targeted for revenge.
