which club? Looks like it would have fit in well at Masquerade :)

Awe, I would be so sad if the Masq closed. I can't remember which club it was, they come and go so fast!

Sitting on top of Spagetti Legs is this dude.... But he's hiding a secret... Any guesses?

Alright, I know that grunts are dumb, it is part of the job description, but seriously? It was a steel pot, other than it getting punctured by a bullet, what could you do to it that would make it useless?

I used to take mine off and use it as a chair soooo.... Probably that.

I could clean, shave, and cook with mine. I hated it when they went to the 'new' style of helmet and made us turn in our old ones. I almost bought a surplus M1 pot solely for those purposes.

A couple of Pre-Columbian statues, a couple of Roman Era oil lamps. Arrowheads I found in the stream here.
A braid from my daughter's first horse that he tore out of his tail.

Some baby teeth, more of them were used in a science fair project that demonstrated the acidic qualities of Coke. I think it took four days to totally dissolve a tooth.

Self portraits from fourth grade of both my kids. The castle my son built in 6th grade. Every sixth grader has to build a castle, either alone or in partnership. It was easier with my son because I already knew about it from my daughter. So I saved empty oat cans, spaghetti boxes and various other boxes and knew to buy silver spray paint early as it runs out around here. And why the local art store doesn't buy extra knowing 300 kids will come looking has always amazed me.

A plastic dialect (think Dr Who) that my sweetie bought me because I told him that I was scared of them as a kid. (yes, he is the sort to poke a bruise lol).

The bedroom furniture that my ex was conceived on - in the '50's. I still use it.

My kids baby teeth - in weird places because I'm just not that organized.

A cow skull - with horns - and painted with native America symbols in the living room - that my oldest covets. It hangs in my very traditional living room and used to belong to my late dom.

A maternity dress that my mum made for me 27 years ago.

A tin of passionfruit pulp - for the pavlova at Christmas.

needlesandpins -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/19/2014 12:10:13 PM)

my son's baby teeth, although these seem standard. however, I was told I couldn't have children, so it was a huge shock when I did a test on an off chance, and it was positive. I've kept that test.

I have a broken padlock from a little area on the Thames that Himself, and I go to when we are down his way. it seems that they tried to shut it off even though it had always been open to the public, and someone broke the padlock. Himself handed it to me the first time we went there, and for some reason it was still in my pocket when I finally got home. So now it's in my treasure box.

The bus and train tickets from the first holiday I organised for myself. it was a very special holiday.

having moved last year I threw out a lot of my stuff, so I no longer have as much weird stuff as I used to.

took me a minute to figure out plastic dialect......Dalek. I love Daleks but I want a Weeping Angel. [:D] Don't blink. Blink and you're dead.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 4:38:35 AM)

LOL, I thought I had no really weird items in the house and asked H, he grabbed me and dragged me to the room I use to keep most of my clothing and errr tools and toys, so I shrugged, but then he dragged me to every freaking shoe shelve in the house (sod it, ungrateful bugger, I let him have one row of the smaller one in the hallway) and the garage where I happen to have tons of boxes with errr, clothes and toys, then to the vitrine where I keep a bunch of weird antique stuff (like a real poison ring) and some antique and special edition lighters. At that point I felt a bit victimized so I dragged him to the room where he keeps about 30 guitars and then to where he keeps a ton of amps (since it's highly unlikely he will ever play a stadium, most of them are weird).

We both decided (in the name of peace) we might have the odd weird item around and we stop pointing them out.

Do people count as weird items?

You have met our "lodger"?

theshytype -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 5:14:29 AM)

No, but from what I've read on here, you definitely have a person to claim as a weird item.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 5:18:34 AM)

He'll be gone by tomorrow... It will be a special TGIF

theshytype -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 5:37:20 AM)

Yay for you! Almost here!

ShaharThorne -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 6:21:17 AM)

We got a tree leaning on a shed, getting ready to leaf. It fell down last year. The kids love climbing on it, giving us heart attacks.

Since Mom is gone this weekend, I am calling a neighbor to come cut it down and haul it off. This needs to be done.

Exidor -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 7:06:06 AM)

We still have the books from the air conditioning course that red took and finished after her ex-husband bailed on it after the third lesson.

I found and filed some random papers from when her father was in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He was one of the electricians that wired up the bomb release mechanism on the Bock's Car. The papers were just a paybook and some odds and ends, though.

Various photos that red won't part with, of people she doesn't know. Some might be relatives or ancestors, but none of her relatives knows who those people are either. Why not just throw them away?

My real IBM 30/30 "Winchester" hard disk pack, complete with "cake box." Well, I guess it does take more space than a few photos of strangers. At least I didn't keep the drive enclosure, which was the size of a small washing machine, and required three phase 240V power...

THE. BEST. EPISODE. THUS. FAR.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 8:52:59 AM)

We had a remote controlled plastic Dalek for a while, gave it to the charity store because it freaked the dogs out, the cats just looked bemused....

GreedyTop -> RE: Weird Items at Home (3/20/2014 8:57:29 AM)
