Seriously, I would say the same qualities that make them a good person in the vanilla sense of the word. I try to be honest, decent, and fair in all my dealings, but that's just me.

It's all very individual, so this is a question with so many possible answers that it won't provide much use.

I would say that probably the only things that go across the board would be trustworthy, mutual respect, honest and reliable.....which are all things you should be looking for in a partner whether it's vanilla, kinky, poly, traditional, etc.

My first response was ... A great submissive partner.

And, actually, I think that's a pretty fair starting point.

Yes, I think MC nailed it pretty much.. I think to be a great dom (or a great sub) you have to begin by being a pretty ok human being, but for many sub women I make a dismal master/dom... For the right one, I will be the very awesomest.

To me a good dominant needs to be emotionally stable and capable of controlling her/his emotions well. In order to actually do that, it takes someone willing to be self-reflective, and someone who looks inside the self for their self esteem and ego.

Being a good match for one's partner. That's really the only one. There are some qualities that will help someone be a good match to a greater number of people, like honesty and self-control. But even those aren't strictly required; they're just good things to have in life in general, and they make it easier to find a compatible sub.
