There's really no way to know someone's motive behind one look in the eyes.
It doesn't bother me or do anything for me.

If someone lingers, turning a look into a stare, it's uncomfortable. Either say something, preferably something not creepy, or stop looking.

ETA: If we're already speaking, I'd prefer someone do look me in the eyes as it tells me they're probably listening. If someone appears to have difficulty in looking someone in the eyes, it leads me to believe they're not confident. Which is a turn off for me.

hello everybody, i am asking to all woman if they like when a guy look at them straight in the eyes... what is your attitude with this?

There was a long thread not so long ago where one poster thought that looking at girls was Ok.
From what I remember, the most common response was that they didn't like it very much.

If you did that to my OH and was standing close enough, the only thing you'd see would be her fist wanting to have intimate contact with your jaw. Or failing that, the feeling of her boot rapidly shaking hands with your nethers.

On the whole, I would say it's just as bad as leering in many ways.

Not OK.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 11:45:32 AM)

Let's be fair, here. This guy is creepy on so many levels that it is difficult to see him as doing anything other than leering.

There are two things that fallen star needs. A blindfold and a bit.

FR

This is the look I've been striving all my life to give the woman of my dreams. What lady's heart wouldn't go a-flutter?

He looks, to me, like he's just a couple of chromosomes short of barking.

^^^This.

And make sure that if you do catch someone's eyes, BRIEFLY, you are smiling warmly and non-threateningly as you do so.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 12:32:30 PM)

That's probably part of my issue. For years, I had awful teeth. I almost never smiled. I am finally re-learning that (what I consider to be) awkward "congenial smile" that I avoided for so long.

ExiledTyrant -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 12:39:57 PM)

I personally abhor an orthodontist smile. Give me a girl with a little wonky in her teeth and I get all goofy. DS, I am sure that your teeth give you character... I don't need to point back to my sheeple rant, but I do like a unique smile as long as it is a healthy one.

Jus sayin

DaddySatyr -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 12:43:26 PM)

There was nothing "healthy" about my smile. I was a "victim" of military dentistry and I had an infection in my teeth/gums that was so bad that it caused a pocket of infection around my heart.

By both doctors' guesstimates, I was six months from a major heart incident. The teeth that were left all had to go. I didn't have much choice.

In fact, when I went back to the dentist after the chest X-ray results, he told me that if he didn't have my permission to operate in 72 hours, I'd need to find another dentist.

~FR~

Most of the time, I'm oblivious. A guy just about has to be standing in my path and Nick Cage - focused on me before I even notice him.

Unfortunately my face is a stern one...
Not reflective of my personality! However being sensible and reserved....
I probably do come off like this here...

ivone57 -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 1:44:11 PM)

i dont feel neither scared or excited... its just some stranger looking at my eyes.... i must rather prefer them to look at my eyes anyways... just saying

UllrsIshtar -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 1:46:10 PM)

I don't mind if he's looking at me, but if he's going to make the mistake to look me dead in the eye, he's going to be uncomfortable fast.

I'm face blind, and i therefore don't naturally do the subtle eyescan movements other people tend to do. While most people don't register what exactly it is that is different and bugs them, they all do immediately 'feel' something is off, and it makes them intently uncomfortable.

Because of this I've learned to not look people dead in the eye unless I'm mad at them... at which point I can visible see them cringing and trying to avoid my gaze.
Apparently my 'drop dead' look really conveys the possibility that I may decide to help that wish along... [:D]

In Italy the straight into the eyes is a bit of a come on, an invitation to flirt, in other cultures it's simple politeness to look somebody into the eyes if you're talking to them

French women I've found to be really disconcerting in that way. They'll stare straight into my eyes, standing right up close, and touching me frequently. Makes you think, '"Good god, woman, we've only just met. Take a cold shower!"

So I take it you don't like being eyeball-fecked by forward French women? Who'd have known? [&o][&o]
No, I don't either--by guys. By anyone.

Did any of you ladies see the sexy, intense gaze on that actor from "Divergent"? Oh, man.
I wanted to just grab his head...and hair....<needs majorly hosed down>
Way too young for me to be having those kinds of thoughts.... [;)]

mnottertail -> RE: Do woman love to be looked at? (3/24/2014 3:41:39 PM)

I am a man and shit, I require face pics for people I talk to....but when I meet them in person, I am gonna stare them right in the goddamn tits.
