subrob1967 -> Democrats having a rough week (3/26/2014 1:49:54 PM)

FBI raids Scarborough (D) office

State Senator Yee (D) arrested

Mator Cannon (D) arrested

I'm gonna guess that either GWB or the Koch brothers are responsible for all of this democrat corruption.

You left out the one where the democratic politicians were videotaped taking bribes on more than 40 instances, but the State DOJ decided not to prosecute...because they had unfairly targeted minorities...

OsideGirl -> RE: Democrats having a rough week (3/26/2014 2:10:02 PM)

I find it terribly ironic that Leland Yee would ban the sale of legal firearms to law abiding citizens, if he could, but yet he's tied to a gang that sells illegal weapons.

That would be this one...

Sources with knowledge of the sting said the investigation made financial pitches to both Republicans and Democrats, but only Democrats accepted the payments... ~Philly.com

LOL....as though corruption wasn't bi partisan, it may be the only common denominator in politics... when you come across a true anomaly, let us know. Now back to your regularly scheduled insult trading.

FelineRanger -> RE: Democrats having a rough week (3/26/2014 2:17:52 PM)

And what's going to happen when there's a retaliatory round of raids and arrests on Republican offices and politicians? Are you going to blame it on some secret plan of Obama's to destroy the country? Neither party holds any kind of moral high ground because ALL the politicians are corrupt. Every. Last. Fucking. One.

Funny.

I believe Power corrupts.
And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

We had dimocrats ruling - virtually uninteruppted house, senate whitehouse from 1945 till 1980. With most of the beauracracy being created and staffed by democrats.

So since power corrupts, and there were more dims in power for longer. It seems to reason that for now we would expect more dimocrat corruption.

I mean really. California, New York, Illinois are entirely democratic fiefdoms. Not to mention chicago, Philadelphia, New York. Trenton. Washington DC city government.

I mean really - are there any republican machines currently like that .. anywhere? Maybe texas.

In the 1930s, James A. Farley was the chief dispenser of the Democratic Party's patronage system through the Postal Department and the Works Progress Administration

Smaller communities such as Parma, Ohio, in the post–Cold War Era under Prosecutor Bill Mason's "Good Old Boys" and especially communities in the Deep South, where small-town machine politics are relatively common, also feature what might be classified as political machines, although these organizations do not have the power and influence of the larger boss networks listed in this article. For example, the "Cracker Party" was a Democratic Party political machine that dominated city politics in Augusta, Georgia, for over half of the 20th century.[12][13][14][15] [16]

Tammany Hall

Cook County?

Huey Long

The Byrd organization

Boss Crump

Hell. If you look at the history of political machines in the US .. aren't they almost always dimocrat?

When the fuck will the Republicans ever hold the power to retaliate in San Francisco, or New York? Seriously[8|]

Eisenhower 1953 to 1961 (8 years)
Nixon 1969 to 1974 (5 years)
Ford 1974 to 1977 (3 years)

For the math challenged that's 16 of the 35 years where Democrats controlled the White House "uninterrupted."

Don't you get sick of having you lies pointed out?

Come on, now. These are "charges" and not proof of guilt. Innocent until proven guilty, isn't it? Charges alone don't indicate that illegal activity was done, but that they really, really think it's been done. Wait until after the cases.

Personally, if these stories result in a reduction in political corruption, I'll be happy. I'd be even happier if it were to involve Federal politicians and resulted in massive decreases in corruption.

Snicker.

Lets see.

1933 - 1947 Dem control House, Senate Presidency.
1947 -1949 Dem control WH. republicans congress.
1949-1953 Dem control House, Senate, Presidency
1953-1955 Rep control HSP
1955-1961 R: P ; D:HS
1961-69 D: P,H,S
1969-77 R: P; D: H,S
1977-1981 D: PHS
1981- 1987 R:PH, D:S
1987-1993: RP D: HS
1993-1995 D HSP
1995-2001 DP, R:HS
2001-2003 - to tough to document
2003-2007 RPHS
2007-2009 DHS RP
2009-2011 DPHS
2011-2013 DSP RH

So. 14+4 +8 +4 +2 +2 +2= 36 years of democratic one party rule.
2+4.. 6 years of republican one party rule.

Of the years with one party rule 85% of the time it was democrats.
Or roughly 40% of the last 80 years has been one party democrat rule.

Of the remaining period, the democrats controlled two branches of government:
6+8+6+ 2 +2 = 24.

So out of the 78 years examined, democrats held power 60 years. or 77%.

Throw in the power of the beauracracy and ....

So the point stands. If you believe that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, then you would expect more democrats to be corrupt. Pretty much like we see.

Oh, and then there's this.

Funny how Reid's daughter didn't discloser her last name on the FEC reports, isn't it.

Ironic yes surprising no.
He makes money selling illegal guns, and makes it safe to use them by disarming potential victims.

They had the senate most of the time and the house from 52-94 that makes them the party in power
almost all the time.
For the logic challenged virtually does not mean the same as always.

That is 4 times this week alone.

1945 to 1980 is 35 years. Put those goalposts down. You got busted. Just acknowledge it, apologize and move on.
