Count me as another vote for Willow. Because you can never go wrong with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference. (Alyson Hannigan played Willow Rosenberg, who was a seriously badass character.) [:D]

I also like Clarissa and Pearl.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 7:42:02 AM)

All of the stuff in my sig line is there for a reason. We are limited as to how many characters we can have in our "signature".

I found it necessary, some time ago, to start doing screen captures since posts and threads can very easily be made to disappear. My screen captures have served me well and will continue to until this moderation team has had some time to get their footing and (quite frankly) show me that history won't be repeated.

So ... tedious? Not really. Vigilant, maybe.

Also, off topic, do you really tpe "Screen captures stil RULE! Ya feel me?" in every single post? doesnt that get tedious, wouldnt it be easier to just put it in your signature

Screen captures still RULE! Ya feel me?

DaddySatyr -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 7:44:02 AM)

LOL I never promised not to show my age!

Eh! I'm so old, I owe Moses a quarter. What can I do?

i feel kinda bad that Willow wasnt choosen as a reference to any show but rather just because its close to William.

MercTech -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 7:54:54 AM)

William => Wilhelmina

Just a thought that popped to mind

CobaltRose -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 8:59:42 AM)

I think i got a name i like: Calypso Willow P********

PeonForHer -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 12:21:56 PM)

Good!

Now make sure that the initials don't come to anything embarrassing.

There's a story that the old Newcastle Polytechnic here in the UK changed its name to Central University of Newcastle on Tyne, and the designs got all the way to the printers before anyone noticed what the initials added up to.

I dont think CWP is gonna be bad initials.

Along with what rascal said about Willow, the willow tree is also very strong, bends buts hard to break..

Personally I would stay away from the types of names that seem like drag queen names like Calypso.

I don't know why but I think Willow seems to suit you. Perhaps because of your new journey of self discovery and the courage you have shown knowing the difficulties you will face as you transition.

Perhaps you should think of the names you like, and write down what attributes you think of when you hear those names. Then look at yourself in the mirror and introduce yourself, "I'm Willow Rose Cobalt" (example) and see what feels right for you.

But I still like Willow. And I've always loved Olivia and Sydney as girls' names.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 6:33:22 PM)

Willow is very pretty, I think anyway. I also like Brigid and Clarissa, but I like Willow the best.

NBMG

hlen5 -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 10:21:30 PM)

Look up Calypso in mythology and see if it still suits you. Willowbark is the only place in nature that you can get aspirin (Salicylic acid). I like the name Pearl (a pearl of great price).

How about Charlotte? It means "feminine" and Ive always thought it was lovely.

CobaltRose -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/24/2014 10:31:22 PM)

i like Calypso it makes me feel sexy.

CobaltRose -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/25/2014 12:24:40 AM)

However, i think in the long run Clarissa would be a better first name.

AthenaSurrenders -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/25/2014 12:42:31 AM)

I think Clarissa sounds more grown up and professional than Calypso, but it's you that has to hear it every day. Maybe you should go on a few nights out and practice introducing yourself by your chosen name to see how it feels?

Toysinbabeland -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/25/2014 7:17:06 AM)

Why not a mix, like callista?

CobaltRose -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/26/2014 1:16:13 AM)

Well, i just hope my family will accept me as a girl.

If I heard someone was called Calypso Willow, I would immediately think they were trans-gender. Trans-genders often over do it on ultra feminine names and every name you have given, apart from Willow, sounds like a trans-gender to me.

If you really want your name to be convincing, don't pick something modern and popular but something that was popular around the time of your birth. That will sound more real than the sort of names your picking. If you don't care about sounding like a trans-gender then ignore me.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Female Name Ideas (4/26/2014 6:42:20 AM)

I like Willow Pearl....but as others rightly said, you have to like it...

My nephews have very old fashioned names and I experienced how some folks get all stiff about it, chosing their names...but hey ho....it's up to the folks who want to wear them (or in brothers case up to the parents of their lil ones) so whatever you choose, I hope you will be happy with it [:)]

Personally I don't like the name Clarissa as it sounds too stiff for me...I have had a nice childhood friend with that name but it just does not sound nice to my ears....

Anyhow....wishing you all the best with your chosen name [:)]

Why not include your mother. Ask her what your name would have been has you been born with a female body?
She may feel included that way.
If you continue to include her in your process, she may grow with you.
