There are some conservative points I actually support, but this lady saying stupid shit makes it hard sometimes.

I've always wondered how she ended up being picked to run as McCain's running mate in 2008, which is what put her in the national spotlight in the first place. And then I would wonder why she's still there. Why don't the media ever show the smartest people from both sides, liberals and conservatives?

Why don't the major political parties ever bring their best and brightest to the forefront and groom them for the top posts? Why do they keep throwing us the dregs and party hacks each election? Even if they lose, the media keep recycling them and resurrecting them like they're supposed to be "elder statesmen" or something.

Politicians are something not unlike news anchors. They're just paid to sit there and look pretty while reading words and ideas written by somebody else. Or maybe they're more like ventriloquists' dummies. But I'd still wonder why they would pick those dummies.

The real "dummies" are the voters and viewers who keep putting up with this.
