Why do a lot of guys who are looking for a (straight) female have photos of females has there profile photo's

I can't answer for them, but I can tell you that it is probably the same reason that sub/slave girls have photos of "girls who are not the profiled member" on their profile. The usual answer is that the photo is describing some fetish or scene that the member has a particular interest in. Many people make a notation that explains that the photos are for illustration purposes, I guess some don't take the time.
Or of course they photos my be his personal collection of his past subs/slaves.
Or they could be ALSO be nut jobs! The answers might vary according to the member.

On one level, they want to portray what they want in a woman symbolically.
On another level, they're trying to show off or give the impression they used to have a hot woman.
There's also the subliminal suggestion that this is what you would have to compete with in order to get this man.
Lame, IMO, but there are some people who are motivated by a sense of competitiveness.

Or it could be they're not so hot themselves, so they hide behind a picture of a more attractive person, even if it is a female.
If you can tell this is a private photo, I would question whether this man has his former partner's permission to use her likeness.
If he doesn't, then he has lack-of-respect for boundary issues, and I would be wary of such a man.

Men are visual and assume that women are also. Thus by showing the type of women and the activities they want to do, they feel they'll appeal more to women.

They're wrong.

To add: I don't think that men who post pictures of women from porn sites and the like have the first idea that a woman looking at such pictures is going to be thinking, "That's not me. I can't look like that. I can't do that. I don't want to be like that, anyway. It's not me. Why should I have to be like that? [etc, etc, etc]"

This communication breakdown between males and females here can be pretty dismal, really. The one side persists in not having the first frigging idea how the other side ticks.

And this is different from the 'vanilla world' how? We'll never figure women out, it's pointless trying. I'd like to add something as to the why guys post porn shots, but the posters above have pretty much covered it all. For the OP, I'd suggest just moving on by those profiles, because chances are they're just from a guy who's not entirely clear on what the scene is about. The sad thing is, if they bothered to read the instructions CM gives them, they'd know posting stuff like that doesn't work. Use it as a your first clue they're probably not what they make themselves out to be.

If its pictures of a real person I wonder if that person knows their picture is all over the Internet. I immediately mistrust anyone in this circumstance. If it's porn I know they live in a fantasy world and don't waste my time.

Aesthetics? An assault to the senses?

Also, it's not that we're NOT visual, it's just that this isn't our dominant sense. We tend to be more aural and verbal, although there are also males who are very aural and verbal (such as famous writers, musicians, and other not-as-visual artists).

Women go to great lengths to present themselves visually. And men -- mostly don't notice. We miss the haircut, can't tell one shade of makeup from another, don't realize you're wearing shoes, and can't remember what you wore last night. Women dress to impress other women. Other visual women.

Unless makeup and hairstyles and clothing makes a sound only women can hear, chanting out verbal messages.

Inanimate objects and real life are two separate things.
This is probably why most fetishists are male.

Frankly, excellent photography of beautiful women is not a sexual turn-on for me.
Beauty in itself can be appreciated without becoming a sexual trigger.
A beautiful mind is more of a sexual turn-on to me than anything else, btw. So is a tender heart, in a man.

ETA: Naturally, it doesn't hurt if that beautiful mind and tender heart are wrapped up inside a sexy-looking hunk!

And so we're right back too . . . And if the photos don't matter -- then why do they matter? Good qualities . . . in a hunk. Visual matters for women.

It's why they carry hand mirrors.

And it's not about aesthetics -- beautiful photography doesn't touch your appreciation (you went right to whether it was a turn on, unconcerned with the aesthetics).

If it's all about the verbal/mind, then it should be about the profile (and audio greeting), with the pictures largely irrelevant.

But . . . it's not.

Are these other profiles of guys saying they prefer polyamorous relationships? i.e. "Here be my other girl she drives a Ferrari."

I'd ask them by writing a letter, here's an example: "Hey man what's with your pictures of all these other women, your profile is like a Littlewoods catalogue!"
