An interesting perspective on Rove's comments:

This kind of personal charge is exactly what's wrong with American politics.

This is an absurdity and it typifies the Republican consulting class, which wants to be negative, narrow, personal, avoid ideas, and not have to wrestle with the big issues. To bring up that kind of thing and suggest that kind of thing is what keeps a lot of decent people from getting in public life, because it ain’t worth the pain of that kind of attack.

And which whiny liberal said that?

Hillary had a fall that resulted in a concussion. A concussion is a traumatic brain injury. Hillary therefore has suffered a brain injury. What's hard here?

Are you a Medical Doctor? And have you performed a full medical exam of Hillary Clinton? The answer is 'no' in both cases. So you really only have Karl Rove's 'word' on the evidence. A guy well known for bending the facts and spinning the truth to his and Republican ally political advantage. Not exactly the most credible source of unbiased information.
Mrs. Clinton had a bit of the flu. She fell due to a blood clout between her ear and skull. She had an operation for it. She was in the hospital for 3 days, not 30 like Rove is claiming.
If you have unbiased and vetted information that states differently, but all means, present it. Otherwise, this is just another political slam by conservatives like the birth certificate issue for President Obama's first term in office.

Seriously?!? Is a concussion not a brain trauma? Did Karl Rove actually say she had brain damage or that she had a traumatic brain injury? Since a concussion is a traumatic brain injury, he was right.

Claiming he said she had brain damage is not the same as saying she had a traumatic brain injury.

So, the real question is whether she had a concussion (stemming from a fall that was caused by weakness fighting off a case of the flu), or not. If she had a concussion, which was reported (I know, I know, totally biased site, but still), then she certainly did have a traumatic brain injury, as Rove claimed. Does she have any lingering issues? Will she have any long-term or permanent issues? Both of those questions won't be answered either until problems are discovered, or after she passes without any problems cropping up.

You liberals are ridiculous with your twisting and turning.

Bullshit.

Rove made a very specific and untrue claim.

Bullshit! EVERYONE knows Rove is not an MD and implying a non MD made a "very specific" medical claim is a prime example of "twisting and turning."

I was watching MSNBC this morning and they agreed Hillary's medical conditions would be totally "IN BOUNDS" if she ran for President.

That the sunglasses she was wearing after the fall were the sort prescribed for people after a head injury.

OMG, you're whining about that?!? That's beautiful!!!

Okay, so, let's say he was wrong to make the claim that the sunglasses were only for those who had a brain injury. Does that have any bearing on whether she had a brain injury or not?

You're not even whining about the implications of what he correctly said (that she sustained a traumatic brain injury).

Me: "Hey, I like the off-white wall paint, Ken. Ecru looks good, Ken!"

    Ken: "FUCKING LIAR!!! It's mother-of-pearl!!"

Me: "Okay, Ken. Whatever. It's still off-white."

cloudboy -> RE: Karl Rove (5/14/2014 3:34:39 PM)

Right wing voters don't care. They did not care about counting all the votes in Florida correctly. They did not care about the Iraq war. They did not care about torture in Abu G. They don't care about voting rights. They don't care about environmental protections. They don"t want women to use contraception, but want to blame women and children for falling into poverty. They don"t care about immigration - at the expense of US economic growth and despite how deportations rip families apart. They don't care about dark money in elections. They don"t care about the uninsured.

They don't care about about mean spiritedness, in fact, they like it.

Saying mean things about political enemies is what republicans do. Think John Kerry and the swift boats. Think bill Clinton and white water. Think Obama and his birth certificate. Think Elizabeth Warren and the consumer protection division.

Negativity is what drives the republicans. It is just super sad and destructive.

Lastly, Republicans have never cared about fiscal responsibility since Ronald Reagan. This only changed after Obama won the White House. Now they want to "balance the the budget" by cutting food stamps, the national endowment for the arts, etc.

MrRodgers -> RE: Karl Rove (5/14/2014 4:01:01 PM)

It doesn't surprise me and it shouldn't surprise anyone that the right today will lie through their teeth and comeback later and insist they didn't say it.

Recall when Cheney most of all and many on the right said Saddams' WMD were a slam dunk, i.e.,...an absolute truth. Then when that proved not to be the case, retreated and said they never said there were absolutely certain. The digitized memory of the day will get liars sooner or later and one reason I will never ever vote for any repub...for any office.

Well I hadn't heard anyone claim she was auditioning for a part on the walking dead but I think he is telling the truth when he says she is quicker than he is. Of course he didn't set the bar very high to begin with.

"Just saying" that you may not actually understand what that word means.
Now you, being an "alleged" cop, should know that charged is not the same as guilty. Since the verdict was not guilty he was not convicted of lying as you would like to claim..."just sayin"[8|]

Yeah, Bill Clinton was impeached for telling lies about an affair that had nothing to do with his day job. A Republican Congress decided to impeach.

G. W. Bush was not impeached for telling lies that got the whole nation into war. 4,000+ dead US Soldiers, 32,500+ wounded, 100K-600K dead civilians (depending on which report you believe), and costing the nation $4 Trillion of borrowed money. His lying had *EVERYTHING* to do with his day job. A Republican Congress decided not to impeached.

Can you say 'Conflict of Interest'?

Actually, that was Jerry Falwell in the 80s.

Karl Rove is the one who makes slim ashamed to be seen with him.
