I'm not fond of dick pictures on profiles. And I've probably never really gotten into the reason why before. But here is my reason, for better or for worse. If I were looking for a dominant male, I would be looking for someone who didn't feel the need to posture for the approval of a woman. I would want to be drawn to the man, not be baited by something he's trying to catch my eye with. It has the potential to come across as desperation.
However, I feel that it's my natural desire to be physically appealing for the pleasure of the man I'm with. I've learned a little bit about why women (including me) might put breast shots up on their profile, and while I recognize that it can often be for some sort of validation, I don't believe it always is. I think it's a display of our individual sexuality for men. Meaning, if someone were to be looking for a submissive woman and came across my profile, he would see someone who comes very, very close to revealing, and in one case does, but in most cases keeps things generally covered but risque. Well - that's a pretty good representation of me in many aspects of my life.
As a submissive woman, a goal of mine is to be appealingly feminine, which to me includes putting my physical attributes up on a shelf for his enjoyment. I don't expect, or look for, a dominant man to cater to me in the same way. So it's not really a tit for tat thing. (Get it?) Double standard? Yes. But it's my opinion nonetheless. Mens' dick shots on a profile will, ironically, often emasculate them in my mind. But a classy and reserved breast shot on a woman's profile? That seems more sensual to me - an offering, a display of femininity.
On a more practical note: if I see crude and up close genital pictures on either a man or a woman's profile, it makes me think "Oh, they're new here." I can understand the excitement of finding a place to finally post all those amateur porn shots on your camera roll!!! Now, of course, being new to a fetish site doesn't mean new to D/s, but it does mean that he or she might not yet understand that being on a fetish site doesn't equal an automatic lay. Crude and up close genital shots also make me think that, if they have been on the site a bit, that they haven't yet matured enough to know that it's not all about getting laid OR that getting laid really is all they're looking for and therefore, as mentioned above, the pictures have served as a good screening tool.
