ORIGINAL: Nnanji Lol, yes, democrat presidents are good for the gun and ammo industry. Since Obama was elected guns have been flying off the shelves. Ammo became very difficult to get. I learned that truism in the early 90's. Now I keep 6,000 to 8,000 rounds of .22 on my shelf. Generally, if I get down to less than 6,000 rounds I start to buy a 500 box every time I go to the gun store until I'm stocked back up. That way when ammo gets scarce I can get by for a while. It was frustrating for a a couple of years but the manufacturers are finally catching up. Actually, .22 ammo was available, it just went up in price from something like six cents a round to eighteen cents or more a round. I didn't buy any for a few years. I'm stocked back up again now though. Fortunately, most of what I shoot other than .22 I make myself. Components tend to be easier to obtain. Although gunpowder went up about 20% too. Start stocking up on powder and primers just in case; primers especially were nearly impossible to find during the last election and Titegroup and Varget might as well have been unicorn blood. Concur, again, something I learned in the early 90s. Generally I buy Clays in 8 pounds so I had plenty of that. I buy 4064, RL 15 and 4320 in kegs as well. Which pretty much took care of the loading ranges you mentioned. Although I know for a Varget fan those wouldn't do. But, I had a lot of .223 sitting around. As far as primers, when my gun store received new shipments, they'd call me and ask if I wanted any of it before they put it on the shelves. I always try and buy locally. My gun store knows that. They know I know how to find stuff on the internet but always give them a chance first. They appreciate it and do me little favors. It works out.
