ORIGINAL: BamaD We also had a guy turn and point his loaded M16 down the firing line, he had to get permission from the closest man to avoid being recycled. It might be a difference in when we served or where we did basic (I was in California, after all). "Fast Freddie" was a target on the range that went up and back down in .3 seconds. We needed 36 out of 40 targets to qualify and that bastard caused more than one recycle. It took me seven and a half hours to qualify with the M16- A1A, but I never liked rifles because they were too close to my face (A friend of mine had gotten his face singed by an Norinco AK-47 that jammed a round in the barrel and blew back into his face). Now, with my .40 pistol ... I was always close to perfect (95%). Even with my .50, I used to score 90%. NEVER give Michael a rifle (except maybe a shotgun for "hip" shots and, let's face it, you don't really "aim" a shotgun; you just point it in a general direction LOL). Michael I always prefered long guns, but it is real hard to carry them concealed so I had to get more accustomed to handguns. I still like revolvers better, I have more faith in them. Of course autoloaders are easier to conceal. In the "winter" (I am in Alabama after all) I often carry a peacemaker clone.
