Do you go all out on sterilizing your home? Is everything spotless, disinfected, fluffed and *perfect*?

I ask because I've been in this situation and felt ever so slightly horrified. I've thought, 'Oh hell, if she ever visits me, I'll have to get in a few gallons of bleach. She's so *neat*, *clean* and *ordered*.

I've sometimes wondered, do women who are entertaining the 'man of their dreams' for the first time, in their home, sometimes deliberately leave something in the house messy, disordered and basically slovenly, just so that said man might feel more comfortable, and less likely to see her as frighteningly prim and unnervingly, passion-killingly, tidy? I've come to realise that it must be a bit of a tightrope: you don't want to give the man the impression that you're much to nice and wholesome ever to want to have sex, but you don't want to give him the idea that you're a slattern, either .....

I clean up whenever I have new company over, sexual or otherwise. It doesn't go to sterilization levels, mainly because I'm lazy. But I pick up and make sure everything smells nice.

Does it really make uncomfortable when they visit a place that's *too* clean?

To be blunt, I think that men will expect that women will keep their homes cleaner and more ordered than they keep their own homes. Age-old sexism applies in that regard.

'Too clean'? No. But too ordered - yes. I've been in the homes of women who've had towel rails covered in three or more towels that are all pulled to an equal length at the front.

Just a bit of mess. It seriously does make me feel easier. *Something* that isn't perfect. I actually have visited a woman, used her toilet, and been *so* chuffed at seeing limescale in it. I've thought, 'Oh, thank god for that'.

I'm always me and a part of me is having a neat, clean, tidy house. He knew before we met in-person that's how I am but he also knew I was in no way frighteningly prim or unnervingly, passion-killing. I did't know tidy equated to prim and passion killing. LOL Master is also an organized person in all parts of his life including the house.

Besides the fact I like a clean, tidy house, between the two of us, we have 3 dogs, 2 cats, a parrot, a box turtle and I have asthma which gives me no choice but to keep the house very clean to prevent asthma attacks. :)

I am not the neater one in this relationship.

So, no, I did not sanitise nor make it look like House Beautiful the first time.

I definitely pick up. I hate going to someone's house that's a big mess. I don't sterilize things beyond maybe cleaning the kitchen/bathrooms w 409. And I'll usually spray some febreeze.

I have never been constrained by my cleanliness.

I have always felt that my cleanliness was adequate.

Sterilize, no.

Clean and organized and nicely decorated, hell yes.

It never occurred to me that it might scare a guy off. To me, this is what you do for company.
I will say that he was highly daunted by seeing all the decorative pillows on the bed. I don't think three rows of decorative pillows is excessive.

Just not pillows with big satiny frills on them, Des. And not arranged at tasteful angles. That's a really, really bad thing to do. Trust me on this.

It would make me nervous. If the place looks clinical. Like the cleaning crew comes through everyday at 5:30 to scrub the house and all the corners I wouldn't do anything sexual there. It would be too much like a hospital. Just stay away from the extremes. Too clean to fuck in and too filthy to fuck in.

No worries, peon. You'll be *quite* comfortable at my place if you ever find yourself in California.

God no. I do tidy up for company but that often includes hiding mess in places I don't expect them to go. And then hope they don't open the door to the spare room while looking for the bathroom.

The kitchen and bathroom will be squeaky clean (because eww, no one wants to see other people's dirt in those rooms) but don't expect things to be neatly folded in my knicker drawer or anything.

It's a moot point anyway. I have a two year old, so no matter how much time I spend cleaning there's always a pile of cracker crumbs on the carpet, clothes in the laundry basket and sticky handprints on the doors.

You never know when those extra pillow cushions will come in handy....

You should feel flattered, Peon, not off-put when somebody goes to the trouble to tidy up nicely in anticipation of your visit. It shows they give a shite.

The fact that it stirs up personal insecurities of your own speaks more about you than it does about your hostess' character. Besides, signs of OCD in a Domme is not a bad thing. Trust me on that one.

My one experience (opposite side, me going to a guy's apartment)...my first impression of his place wasn't a good one. Dirty kitchen, with moldy dishes in the sink, and floors that hadn't been swept in months.
Now, I'm not clean either...but come ON! lol Leaving that much mess...there is no excuse =p

I'd do a quick clean...good enough to not attract any unwanted attention anywhere.

*You* have pillows with big satiny frills, don't you? I knew there'd be at least one woman who did.

Of course. Matches my burgundy bedspread, duvet, satin sheets, mattress skirting, et. al. The curtains are of (burgundy) lace, though.

Please tell me that you don't have one of those fluffy covers on your toilet seat lid (in burgundy or any other colour)? You know, the things that make the lid fall down on a man's dick when he's doing a wazz? They were invented by a very old lady who'd often heard men described but had never actually had one visit her.

You mean with plush faux fur? Who wants to hear all that toilet seat clanging & banging in the middle of the night? Not moi. You have to have a bathmat in there anyway for getting out of the bathtub/shower so you don't slip and fall flat on your (skinny ) ass. Might as well have a matching set, along with the rug that wraps around the base of the commode that you guys keep pissing all over when you misaim.
