Nope, there was proof of the connections to the misusing of the IRS by NIXON.

During Richard Nixon's 1972 re-election campaign, the president's White House counsel, John Dean, met with the head of the Internal Revenue Service, Johnnie Mac Walters, and presented him with an envelope. Inside was a list of approximately 200 names -- the names of Nixon's political enemies and with it came the understanding that the IRS begin investigating the "enemies list" and perhaps start sending some people to jail.

Stunned, Walters sealed the White House list, locked it in a safe and later fended off complaints from Nixon aide John Ehrlichman about the IRS's "foot-dragging tactics."

No such interaction between white house and OBAMA exists.

Its nutsackerism. Factless asswipe. Your shilling and stooging does not alter facts.

How about this, a competent prosecutor determine that a crime has actually been committed, convene a grand jury, convince that grand jury to indict her, prosecute her in front of a jury of her peers and then we'll see. Till then STFU.

Nice to see you finally coming around, Ken. I've been saying this needed a special prosecutor since before the first cover story was shattered.

What I'm saying is since no prosecutor has even sniffed this, since no crime has occurred. It is a non issue out side paranoid right wing nut job world. Please leave the bubble.

Whether the President directed it, or it was driven by pressure from Democrats in Congress, the IRS has been used to target political opposition, and Lerner has the story. At some point, this thing will break open.

It's the cover up that gets them.

I don't think there is a cover-up. One does not plead the 5th if they have something bad to hide, they would simply admit it since they are honest and open people, as Obama instructed his administration to be.

You see, the pleading of the 5th was to avoid having to say she did not do anything bad except for that time she snuck out of her bottom floor bedroom as an early teen and met a sixteen year old boy, they drove down to the river and watched submarine races for an hour until the local constable shined a flashlight into their window and took her out of the car and drove her home where she plead the 5th to her father and mother.

So, as said before here, it was only a motherly concern that some IRS staffers were using their emails for sex texting. Nothing to see here.

Correction to my last. Lois was actually with Superboy that night and she did not plead the fifth to her father but instead told him to "sue me".

My mistake. Sorry. I as there but it has been a long time.

I'd take the 5th if called in front of a committee if the Speaker had said he intended to see someone prosecuted if I was innocent as Christ himself.. That just common sense.

Yes. It is the Speaker's fault. I see a subtle but common pattern to how this Administration takes responsibility. So, if you are innocent you plead the fifth because you will go to jail for being innocent because the Speaker will somehow suspend her protections under the law, suspend the Constitution, kinda like an executive order or something. I see the clear logic in this approach.

Wait. One pleads the fifth because they are guilty and are not required to incriminate themselves. Did you guys go over that already? Because that is the only reason you plead the fifth.

Yeah, you don't plead the fifth to avoid saying "I'm innocent". Okay, my head is settling down there, but it was a close one.

TheHeretic's after's his white whale again.

Back when this story broke, he had a hard-on like an elephant, but as the news has developed and no scandal's been revealed, his hydraulics have had to adjust while his mood gets more foul with Obama distemper.

The truly amazing thing is how the right is so galvanized by petty anger at gays, minorities, teachers, Latin American children, and small scale stuff that offends their sensibilities (Bergdahi) but the big issues like health care, the environment, immigration reform, infrastructure spending, regulating banks and wall street, etc. they've simply got one empty drawer after another.

What has the Republican house proposed on the Latin American children, for example?

"the Latin American children?

Obama broke it, when he called them his "dreamers" and suggested they could all stay if they made it here

So, now its the Republicans' mess how.

I daresay Obama was right. They were "dreamers": dreaming that some day the US would have a President who hated his own country so much he would seek to destroy it and let them all in as the forward part of a Cloward-Piven strategy.

And when did he say this? I would like the video please....

Republicans had their chance to fix the problem back in 2000-2006. And they pissed away the opportunity. Since that time they have been doing anything and everything to stop the process. The bills they send forward to the Senate are laughable. Metaphorically speaking, would the Republicans sign off on a bill that removes firearms from being sold in America if the Democrats voted on it in the Senate? Course not! So why would Democrats sign off on bills they don't like?

The President is at his job 24/7/365. How many hours has the Speak of the House logged in the last two years? The President has accomplished quite a number of things in the last two years alone. Mr. Boehner is on record for the two least productive Congresses in the 238 year history of this nation. And now the Speaker of the House is suing the President over silly and stupid shit rather than doing his job.

Of course. It happens in each courtroom each day across this nation. In each courtroom the DA is intending to prosecute someone. Intention has nothing to do with this. Each person, including Lerner, is innocent until proven guilty. BTW, the Speaker cannot find anyone guilty or prosecute anyone. Lerner is only afraid her statement might be repeated in a courtroom, far away from the House.

bump. We are discussing, mostly, Lois Lerner and her pleading the fifth to avoid admitting her guilt.
