As a matter of interest, Akasha, how far do you think your interests are typical of femdoms in general?

I don't know. I think most femdoms have hot buttons for kinks.

I think power exchange and protocol are compelling for a lot of kinky women.

But I don't know how many women are fetishists in the way that I am. When I meet them, we both can share clips from mainstream stuff and we're on the same page. I don't know how many dominant women used to pick up the TV guide when it was in print form (as a teenager) and scour the "new Fall Season" lineup for shows that have a high likelihood that a man would be tied up. Like MacGyver or Tales of the Gold Monkey or Manimal. Oh, Simon & Simon. I don't know how many women got light headed in their teens watching movies with a man in bondage. How many would consider the "Han Solo Torture Scene" in Empire Strikes Back as an indulgent guilty pleasure. I was 14.

I am programmed to get aroused/excited by men in helpless situations. That's core to my femdom persona. I don't "need it" to get off or have sex, but it's highly arousing and compelling when I see it in ANY form. I still watch TV shows that are high on the list for potential bondage, because I like to see guys tied up (read: Supernatural)

I just found out that the original Batman TV show (adam west) is coming to DVD - all the shows. ** wheee ** - I watched that at age...oh, 7? 8? Just to see Batman get tied up. It might be something that actually contributed to what I am today. I wanted to be Catwoman.

And I wanted to meet Catwoman. Lordy, especially when she had a gang of male 'henchmen' who all acted like mice. They had mouse costumes with whiskers and put their hands up in front of their chests as they said, 'eek, eek, Catwoman!' Superb!

I remember Adam West in an interview, once, being asked, 'Who was your favourite villain?' He replied, 'Catwoman, without a doubt. She produced stirrings in my Utility Belt.'

God, I'd have enjoyed being Batman up against Catwoman, so long as I could have got rid of Robin, the boring little prepubescent tit.

<snip>

I don't consider myself a fetishist. Is begging a fetish? [&o]

Yes, there are a number of kinky hot buttons, but I'm not so much into bondage per se. For me, the use of restraints is a means to an end. The end that I contemplate, not to get caught up in it as the focal part of a scene.

Power exchange, yes. Protocol is medium.
D/s dynamics have to be erotically charged, and porn doesn't do that for me, in any way, shape or form (other than some of the soft porn I used to watch).

poise -> RE: Porn for women. (7/25/2014 6:50:46 PM)

I believe years ago I had a paid membership to sexandsubmission.com. If I remember correctly,
it was like having an access pass for a set period of time. I LOVED all of the videos I watched,
and even some of the ones that I had to cover my eyes for. (I'm a bit of a wuss, even visually)
I didn't renew it when my time expired, but I remember being a big fan of Marc Davis, and
felt all of the videos were very believable.

I wouldn't spend money on porn these days. For one, I become excited too easily, so I don't think
it would be very cost effective, as I'd probably never watch the whole thing. [:-]
Also, I get slightly distracted listening to the women moan and such, as it usually seems phoney,
and would probably prefer it on mute.

Actually .. I think you would have most enjoyed getting Captured by Catwoman ... chained up ... and ... well, you and AAkasha can figure out the rest of the scene yourselves. LOL

All without Robin, of course. ... [sm=mistress.gif]

Enjoy!

Japanese porn is the worst for that. The women squeal like toddlers. It makes me shudder.

I prefer erotica to porn.
I find any porn disappointing, I prefer my own imagination, so, no, I would never waste any money on it. Although there are times I believe I could make some money writing it!

Forget it. This is porn, not relationships. [;)]

Oh I know full well it's not going to happen. I'm just saying that those are the criteria that might motivate me to pay for it.

What about the vast sea of Fabio-laden crap that is historical romance?

Lots of watered down D/S in that mess.

One writer, Rosemary Rodgers (I think) had a scene in every book where the heroine finally gets around to giving up her ass amidst much melodrama.

I always thought a good title for one of her books would be "Love's Tender Sphincter".

Don't stop writing your heart out. There's always a demand for better quality erotica, and this should come from a much-needed woman's perspective.

I had undertaken writing a few short stories about 20 years ago, before there was a Literotica or any of that, but I couldn't stop rewriting and/or starting from scratch all over again.
Insipid Anaïs Nin was my anti-role model of what kind of stuff not to write. (To this day, I start to cringe whenever I hear or see the words: languid, languidly, languish, bijou...) [>:]

Best of luck with your literary endeavors! [:)]

Gay, anal, rape porn. Torture porn. Military porn. All of the porn I have ever seen that is "made for women" has had a lot of talking, something they would like to call a plot, and tends to be mushy. Can't stand it personally. I don't want to watch porn where people make love anymore than I want to have to think about love when I'm having sex. Love are all the things that we do outside of sex. Sex is about fucking. If you aren't fucking you are doing it wrong (and if you are me and someone doesn't end up crying you are also doing it wrong) When I used to do film it was horror and if you ended up naked you also ended up dead. When I do erotica pretty much the same thing happens. Lots of blood, sweat, and screaming. Boys on their knees, with lashes at their backs. The constant villain I want to see women in porn do the same things I would do. Lick the tears off the face of some helpless little thing and smile when they tell them how sweet they taste. If you can whip some porn like that up for me DS, I would be more than happy to watch it.

That could *so* easily be a submale's sort of view of it all. Quite blokey, I'd say, MIP. Apart from the thing about licking his tears and telling him how sweet they taste, of course. No male would write that. Oooh no. [;)]

Darkfeather -> RE: Porn for women. (7/26/2014 2:52:27 PM)

If you look at porn objectively, it really isn't targeted at males, per se. I mean really, heterosexual males do not really enjoy watching a hard veiny member pounding into a woman's nether regions, especially in high definition close up. But porn is about suspension of disbelief, putting yerself in "that guy"'s place. With that perspective, most of us tend to, ignore the giant penis slapping away in front of us and focus on the woman. That is where the concept of porn for males comes from, that suspension. Well that, and lesbian porn...

BecomingV -> RE: Porn for women. (7/26/2014 3:16:45 PM)

Dark Steven, thank you for this thread! It's the most fun I've had reading the boards in a year or two, I'd say. :)

I'd forgotten about Batman's early influence... thanks for the memories.

In the 80's, a lesbian friend of mine bought women's erotic videos which targeted a lesbian audience.

About two years ago, I learned of a twitter-like erotic service for women. They can subscribe and will receive texts... of an erotic short story, but in tiny spurts. It was marketed for busy execs who want an erotic thread to continuously interrupt their day. I heard it became very successful.

But, thinking back on my phone actress days... my first night of training was in a phone bank, elbow to elbow, in a huge, open room full of cubicles. They used the free for women sex-talk phone businesses to train their actresses while they listened in and gave feedback. (I LOVED that job, BTW!) Anyway, my first night of training, a guy called and just started "talking." I almost quit on the spot because this guy took MY breath away! LOL That man's voice had me in quivers to the point that I could not talk! Yeah, great, great, job! :)

So, when appealing to women sexually, written and spoken words seem to be porn. The tricky part is that what turns one woman on turns another off, so that would have to be addressed. Some women like the porn that is out there already but it does appear to have a more universal appeal for men, IMO.

ETA : The thing about women and sexuality that IS universal, is that we are hard-wired to respond to passionate desire. In BDSM, that desire may be expressed in specific ways according to kink while in vanilla life, that desire is expressed with other forms of attention and interest. Either way, we want to be wanted.

Let's face it, women don't like porn because they don't like sex very much. It's not about sugar and spice and all that's nice. It's mucky and unladylike.

Not trolling, me. I never do that.

Like I said... this is the most fun I've had on the boards in years. LOL

"Women don't like sex..." ROFLMAO

Women don't like BAD sex, whether in person or on film.

As for Lady-like... where's LadyPact when we need her? LOL

Evidently they do...I suspect men like to make locker room-ish comparisons up close without having to NOT appear that they are sneaking a peek. (Admit it, you guys want to get a close-up view of just about anything and everything you can.)

Not only that, I suspect that it's wishful thinking on men's parts that we women are just as interested (read as "cock-centric") in the state of their members as they themselves are in their own. Like we really care how heavy your (plural) balls are at any given moment. [8D]

I don't know about that. I can honestly say that when I am with my male friends, kink and nilla alike, we talk about everything (and I mean everything) except the male member. Not that we shy away from the subject on sexual confusion grounds, but hetro guys just aren't wired to talk about things like that. I mean we don't sit around the bar saying things like, "Do you think his ass looks good in those jeans" or "I can totally see his nipples in that shirt, that slut". Guys just don't talk that kind of sex with each other, especially penises
