I'm not saying anything, I am posting information.

The conservatives here keep trying to blame Big Mike for being shot, but the actual problem in Ferguson is the police department and the municipal justice system.

So if someone were to post an article to this thread that reported that Brown was a known gang member, serial killer, and pedophile (not true, used for example only), you'd think they were just "posting information"?

You did "say something", you said "Finally some news about Darren Wilson, whose been hiding behind a wall of secrecy." Followed by a copy of a news report that seems to be about about another Darren Wilson. So yes, I'd say you were making a statement.

And I here I thought the "actual problem" was that a criminal (and yes he was a criminal as his accomplice admitted under oath), is accused of assaulting an officer and being shot.

you mean like I did here?

Well other then that your response doesn't have anything at all to do with what I asked cloudboy. You reposted something that someone else said, somewhere else, and asked if anyone had a problem with it. Cloudboy posted a news report claiming that Wilson started his career in a department that was disbanded for poor performance and bad community relations, then tried to dodge responsibility by saying that he wasn't saying anything, he was just posting information. So not even remotely the same thing.

As to whether or not I thought the post you were referring to was ok. If the photo isn't of Brown, then it's a pretty crappy thing to do. At least with the ridiculously out of date photos we saw at first, disingenuous as they were, they were at least of the right person. But if you're asking if the officer had a right to post his opinion, I'd have to say yes. He's got as much right to his opinion as anyone else when he's off duty. He didn't make racist comments, as far as I can tell from the article, those were added by other posters afterwards. At worst, he's guilty of misrepresenting a photograph, but depending on where he got it from, he might have thought it was of Brown. (We've had two different people here misidentify Wilson already.) As to his post being "biased", how is what he said biased? "I'm sure young Michael Brown is innocent and just misunderstood. I'm sure he is a pillar of the Ferguson community." Sarcasm is now bias?

Im treating your comments with the respect they deserve...
That you dont see it in the same vein says so much.

Well that seems fair, as along as you don't mind people treating your comments with the respect they deserve. [:)]

Lucy, I'm trying to respond to you as if you're a reasonable person. But if you want to keep proving that you're an obnoxious bitch, that's ok too.

cloudboy -> RE: Rioting is the answer (8/25/2014 5:44:01 AM)

It's a Washington Post article about Wilson's background. He's gone from one dysfunctional, racist police force to another. There are other details about him as well.

It's further proof that the rioting and protesting isn't happening in a vacuum.

~ FR ~

An amazing new act enters the center ring...

A prominent New Orleans attorney now represents the eyewitness at the center of the investigation into the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Dorian Johnson, 22, who was with Brown when he was shot to death by a police officer, has hired James Williams and a St. Louis-based partner...

Williams is in St. Louis, and made the media circuit Friday (Aug. 22) to redirect attention from his client and toward the officer who shot Brown, Darren Wilson.
~Source

Faced with autopsy findings showing that Johnson's claims of Brown being shot in the back are bunk, Williams staunchly defended his client's credibility.

Step right up, folks.

I admit I haven't read every post on this and only some of the news online, but why does Johnson need a lawyer. Is he being charged with something?

Yes, for among other things submitting a false report (from before this incident) in Jefferson City.

Thanks, I hadn't heard that.

Well she asked what he would say if someone made a post that reported that Brown was a known gang member, serial killer, and pedophile and you made one that claimed a cop was a liar. And he did respond to it....

So yea exactly like that. But only if you keep your head in the clouds and don't actually read what was typed. [8|]

Another district near STL fired it's whole police department. When have you ever read about such a thing?

Lucylastic -> RE: Rioting is the answer (8/25/2014 7:33:48 AM)

He nailed it from more than a few directions. His show is brilliant.
Btw....where is the police incident report....??
General question, not directed at you specifically tj44;)

This is vandalism and looting, not "protesting".

And even the hit piece you posted said that Wilson got a commendation this year for subduing a person "involved in a drug deal" and again I ask if you really want us to believe that is the act of a triiger happy cop?

Happen here over politics. They fired the new chief for demanding a raise, for his men.

But I think that cloudboy's point is still valid in that it's not happening in a vacuum.

That's one thing I've noticed here, since there seems to be this mad rush to "condemn the rioters and looters" and to paint Brown as a violent "thug" (and maybe he was). It still doesn't explain the "why." If society doesn't care enough to try to understand why these things happen, then how can we come up with any solution?

It comes from the ABC affiliate in Jefferson City.

you have ignored the POINT of my posts more than a few times, you are not worthy of anything but contempt until you do so with some intellectual honesty.

It also happened in Camden, NJ because the police farce had become the biggest, most dangerous gang on the streets. That bunch of thugs was fired (conveniently never arrested despite loads of evidence and witness testimony) and replaced by the Camden County Police Department, which basically operates on "Shoot first, ask questions later, especially if it's one of those people."
