Hi

I was looking at a number of profiles and I noticed that there is quite a common request / offer from the subbies for 24/7 cageing, imprisonment etc.

I was wondering, how the hell do they cope with the boredom.

I can't even lie on a beach for half an hour without at least reading a book.

I have to do something.

So again how do they bear the boredom.

Things are sometimes out in, rewards usually, to keep you entertained. However, if you can't obey his/her wishes for a day, you probably should not respond to those ads lol

I employ the tyrannical despot method to break the monotony

Sigh (or other indication of boredom) 1: add cuffs.
Sigh 2: add blindfold.
Sigh 3: add 1-10 June bugs.

There usually isn't any further indications of boredom.

Earplugs defeat the heightened sense of hearing and the eerie effect of the scratching of June bug legs on the metal floor. After just one experience with beetles, a jiggle ball evokes sheer terror.

How come most of what I learn on these message boards seems to just be things to add to my list of hard limits? [8|]

I will say (in a more serious response to the OP) I've never been caged, but I wonder about it sometimes and I don't think it would bother me all that much....certainly not right away. I think having to depend on public transit for so many years....having to stand at a stop for an hour and a half with nothing to do but look at the same vacant lot I saw yesterday and the day before that and the day before that.....*may* have prepared me for such an episode.

About as close is I'm going to get to confining someone is a slave shack in the backyard with 30' of chain... Mmmmmm, I can't wait to build it.

Another thing about caged subs, whats in it for me. I would have to provide space for them, feed them, cloth them.

I suppose the knowledge that you have someone under total control could be arrousing in itself, but for me it is a means to an end.

The control is there so that they do what I want them to do, not so I can treat them as some sort of zoo exhibit.

Again I just don't see the point of 24/7 caging. I suppose short term locking up when you are not using them would be ok, but the 24/7 thing eludes me.

The boredom doesn't kick in until they find a Dom/me willing to cage them.

Look at it like this, once he/she is caged, under your total control, you've just became a deity. Now, there is a plethora of deities you can become... Buffalo bill isn't a good one... Personally I would be the deity of hedonism.

Since 99% of them have no real intention of meeting anybody for real, I'd say the boredom never kicks in for most...

I seem to remember a topic similar to this...I think it was about the health concerns of being caged constantly. Anyway...

I am also of the mind of "what's in it for me?". There is the control aspect but while it is often spoken of in D/s about the illusion of the dominant's control...the illusion shattered by the submissive refusing to submit...this is a perfect example of that illusion.
---the submissive is in a cage...where she wants to be, 24/7. How much work can she do in there? How much sex? How much social interaction with others outside the dominant's/submissive's world? How much responsibility can she bear for her actions...which are restricted to what the cage allows?
