What I admire the most about Joan Rivers is that she was her own woman and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She was a sassier, more loud-mouthed version of iconic comedienne Lucille Ball (who was, however, a master at physical comedy). There were times when what she voiced made me cringe inside. I would never say something like that. But she dared to go where no woman or man had gone before, intrepidly. Joan was also a successful designer with her own fashion jewelry line which became hugely popular. She was a mother with a close relationship to her daughter Melissa (condolences), a wife who by all appearances had a husband who was devoted to her, and who was devoted to him. She lived a good, full life. Rest in Peace, Joan.
