Nope. Bush Lite won because the Republicans couldn't offer any viable choice -- first the McCain/Palin circus, then the Bush-on-Steriods nonsense (even the right wing media noted their penchant for gross factual misrepresentation). Especially the second term, he should have been beatable. The media is a mess--FOX among them, but there hasn't been journalism in this country for a few decades.

We have been appointing presidents based on the color of their skin since george washington.
