We've had lots of threads on this subject. Myself, I enjoy music that fits the scene. Ranging from mellow celtic to techno to raw and loud rock. More important than the music itself is that it blends with the actions for me.

Daddy sometimes likes classical, for the rhythm.  However, I prefer almost anything by Enigma, esp. the song "Sadeness"...  Ever since it came out years and years ago in my vanilla world, I have loved it and just gets my head in a really sexy space.

I love music -- and I love to spank/swat/etc. in time to it! Same for the sex aspect... For example: Allman Bro.s MOUNTAIN JAM from the Eat A Peach album: 33 minutes of escalating crescendos (WOOF WOOF!), but I prefer to start with some good jazz/fusion, moving on to more rapid Rock/Blues, and on to the above mentioned Mountain Jam... Of course, if the tape/CD ends, I am not going to stop the action just to go to the stereo, lol...

Dear kikiloly, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I came up through a time that music wasn't used in dungeon scenes.  But, then again there wasn't any 8 track tapes, cassette tapes and or CD-Rom disked music.  Record player was 'it.'

However, when music was used it was a lot lower than what I seen/heard no matter where I go.  Classical and Baroque is nice, as well as the Medieval chants.  I wouldn't mind having some of the music in some of the PBS programs and John William's theme musics.

My personal preference is having music that fits the mood of the scene but, not take over the scene.  I wish the slave's senses to be focused on me and not entirely on the music.  The music the slave makes is what I'm looking for in all my scenes.

Respectfully submitted,
Lady Hugs

LadyHugs (and all others),

I know what you mean about "the music the slave makes", particulalrly at the apex of her limits (if any)... Roxy Music has a tune, AVALON (from the eponymous album) at the end of which is a fantastic female vocal: stretched out "ooh-ooh-oooooooh"-s -- when she howls like that, I know I am doing right, lol! The same for a Pink Floyd cut from Dark Side Of The Moon, the title of which I of course cannot remember now (it's either on the tip of my tongue or the tip of my dick, lol)...

it's interesting how one changes..I used to play things like Enigma and even had a relationship where believe it or not, we played the soundtrack for Halloween III, I kid you not.

in my last relationship, there was no music at all, save for the delicious sounds of moans, groans and screams.

I'm a big huge flaming fan of Disturbed, especially their new album and the song "Down with the sickness." But some of the softer metal is great, like Stutterflys "gun in hand." And most of Marilyn Mansons stuff has a really sexy beat.

Hey, kiki and all...

some of us are waaay auditory.

I love ...

silence
loud fast insturmental rock, 70's, 80's
slow sad minor-key insturmentals
electronic music, dance music with NO madonna,
crazy heavy metal riffs,
depeche mode, tangerine dream, Crue,
Zepp of course,

and rarely, but sometimes a big Romantic Symphony

silence is good...

I really got into progressive house trance music
with DJ's like Sasha and Digiweed,
and think it would be fabulous in some situations,
but, being new in LA, with no-one yet to play...
I've been playing Sasha live at the Avalon for a month.

The complex rythyms, big walls of sound..
amazing vibe.... it really takes over my
nervous system sometimes....
fast beat action trances.... ooooh

Long ago, in another country and another life
I made hypnosis weight loss sessions,
(ok, ok, I've gone straight and moved into health insurance)
and had a terriffic composer create for me
some lovely, dreamy, piano solos
at 60 beats per minute.... very drifty,
minor key stuff....great Yamaha grand...
if he knew how I was using that music
now... he'd have a huge roar of delighted/surprised laughter,
and try in vain to give me a refund...

A really interesting special effect
is to have a mic close to my partner,
feeding into a nice little reverb effect...
and after a while... with all the sighs
and moans and gasps and cries andsighs and pleaaaaas
... and that quick little catch of intake-breath you get sometimes....
whistling sounds wooshing thru the air...
... repeating just so....
it can either be way cool, or totally dorky,
depending on the energy ...
(did you check out the thread
on begging and pleading ... think about it...)

silence is good

and, in a late breaking development
which is shocking in it's weird combination
of boldness, sopistication, and fast patter
a marin-county-maso-mama just
sent me some Gilbert and Sullivan....

I kid you not!

Do you know how fast them guys get  things going?
Plus, it was fun typing "fast patter" up there in a way
that was correct in both senses of the word.
But don't tell her cause she groans at my puns.

And she has great groans....practiced 'em for years, if you follow....

And....
for me,
no music is mostly the best....
just the sounds we make together...

DD, a musical old goat...

PS....The lyrics dem old guys snuck in....Oy Vey...
this is from the Mikado...
so maybe she's the marin-mikado-maso-mama,
and... she's a trained soprano in both BDSM and opera.
What fool would put music on over those solos?

Not me.

And truth to tell, she lights up well.

The sun, whose rays are all ablaze
With ever-living glory,

Does not deny his majesty
He scorns to tell a story!

He don't exclaim,
"I blush for shame,
So kindly be indulgent."

But, fierce and bold,
In fiery gold,
He glories all effulgent!

I mean to rule the earth,
As he the sky
We really know our worth,
The sun and I!

I mean to rule the earth,
As he the sky
We really know our worth,
The sun and I!

Observe his flame,
That placid dame,
The moon's Celestial Highness;

There's not a trace
Upon her face
Of diffidence or shyness:

She borrows light
That, through the night,
Mankind may all acclaim her!

And, truth to tell,
She lights up well,
So I,  for one, don't blame her!

Ah, pray make no mistake,
We are not shy;
We're very wide awake,
The moon and I!

Ah, pray make no mistake,
We are not shy;
We're very wide awake,
The moon and I!

Ambient music is great to play when doing things. People like Harold Budd or Brian Eno.

I don't like music or outside noise when I play/. Ruins my concentration and gives me a headache.
