The 3 nearest international airports to me are Dulles, DC National (renamed after Ronald Reagan), and BWI (Baltimore-Washington).

I travel down there a lot:)

Brings about the question as to what's more dangerous, Ebola or the Kardashians. Maybe we should ban both just to be safe?

Using that kind of logic, nuclear bombs can't be all that bad either

Do you have any idea how many Americans have died from our own nuclear bombs? Have you ever heard of John Wayne? You might want to read up on the film The Conqueror.

As many as have died from viruses?

No.

That wasn't the question.

You really think that matters to him?

Really. What screening exactly is for nuclear bombs?

Metal detector, sure.

Score one for Sherlock.

So now US requires people from ebola countries to report in every 21 day on their medical condition.

That's pretty fair. But I think it's always stupid to wait till incidents happen, then start putting in measures. But at least measures are put in place now.

Greta75 -> RE: Should the US close airports from Ebola ravaged countries? (10/29/2014 2:05:25 AM)

So Australia is the first country who has gone hardcore to close their airports to ebola countries.

Maybe not, the United States enjoys Russian roulette, let's not do anything unless the situation gets serious.

It is a question designed to get punks who run their mouths about strict construction of the constitution to actually take a stand. If one is a strict constructionist then the u.s. govt has no authority to create the cdc or innitiate medical quarentines.
How many times have I asked this question to the usual loudmouth morons who spout that ignorant horseshit? It has been a week now and I have posed the question numerous times. Still this deafening silence from right wing assholes.[:)]

You might have a valid point thompsonx, but you have not been very "nice" to many on the boards lately.
Maybe, they can't handle the discussion?

I am nice to those who are nice to me. If someone is rude to me I am under no compulsion to be polite in return. You and I have discussed many things and disagreed on a few but never have you been rude to me nor I to you....it really is that simple.

Marini -> RE: Should the US close airports from Ebola ravaged countries? (10/29/2014 6:45:33 PM)

Well, if that is the case, sometimes a little stick can be used instead of a big stick?

As far as your post, I have not noticed many on these boards that appear to be strict constitutionalists.

Sanity, desdi scuri, bamma, sadist dave, creative dominant, third wheel, chalupa, cucky, subrosa to name a few of the more loudmouth folks who never read a history book written for someone beyond the fifth grade.

Or they have him on hide and don't see 90% of what he posts.

Sanity -> RE: Should the US close airports from Ebola ravaged countries? (10/30/2014 5:50:14 AM)

I don't have him on hide but I skip over his posts as a matter of habit because reading his writings is a complete waste of my time

His posts are typically very predictable, very immature, and practically everyone else ignores them anyway, making a reply unwarranted

When Sanity and I agree on something you know it is likely true and the end is near. Although I long ago put tommy on hide.

They have zero cases, but Australia is one of those, most strict countries when it comes to preventing diseases from appearing on their shores.
