ChrchofDrk -> Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/25/2014 10:46:56 AM)

.... about your choices of who's not best to run this country. Why don't you tell the whole world, or at least the collarspace world, who you think best to run this country. Who do you think actually has the stones to do it and do it right. Seriously. Put your money where your mouth is

Me, I got no idea who should run it. No one looks good. Cept maybe my hyperactive dog that thinks she's a cat. Identity crisis happens in all creatures

Musicmystery -> RE: Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/25/2014 11:07:05 AM)

These are two different questions. My top choices aren't running, and aren't likely to run. So I'm watching to see what transpires.

(on the local level, different story -- campaigning for personal choices)

I think Tom Daschle would be a great choice. Bill Richardson might be good, though I'd like to know more. Colin Powell might have been good.

But those ships have sailed. Time for new faces. Gary Locke perhaps.

But folks are looking to game the power structure, not run the country best.

So, so true - sadly.

This is what happens when a people allow ego and money to rule over all else in a nation. The people running for Congress will drop a few million to get elected, but make only $176K/year. As a business person, would you drop $5 million to get only $1.056 million back? So its clear all these 'business men and women' are not doing this to make 'good business decisions in Congress'. They want their ego's stroked, for all of us to bow down to them, and worship them for their greatness. Last I checked, this is the United States; aren't we suppose to...NOT...have a nobility class ruling us?

OK. For the sake of this thread. It doesn't matter if they're running or not. The question truly is, who in your minds eye and thought do you think has the stones to lead and guide this country to become the dominant presence it once was both domestically and internationally? Do you think anyone has all the answers and if so, who would that be and why?

Musicmystery -> RE: Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/25/2014 11:30:29 AM)

Seriously, dude, that's ridiculous. NO ONE has "all the answers." And never will.

Maybe not "all the answers" but enough to affect positive change. Is there anyone in the current political spectrum that could actually bring the House and Senate more together?

MrRodgers -> RE: Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/25/2014 6:38:35 PM)

I would like to see senator Mark Warner D-Va. run for pres. but I don't think he will. HERE

MercTech -> RE: Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/26/2014 6:40:04 AM)

Based on the offerings of the various political parties over the last several elections it is time for a write in campaign for Alfred E. Newman. He couldn't do any worse.
<tongue firmly in cheek>

Didn't he run in 1976

The only place I would want to bring them together is at the exit door.

Who would be good for the country and its citizens vs. who would be able to bring the current congressional bodies together are two entirely separate things.

The last guy who seemed to have his way more often than not with the Congress set us on a path of regulatory disfavor (greatly fawned over by the media who benefited from their newly found expansion) and thereby regulatory dysfunction. We can see where that got us.

I can't even think of who to vote for who's best qualities would be how to make 400+ nut cases happy, and tough for the citizens and society.

I would propose Elizabeth Warren, but it would probably only work if we could eliminate 95% of the current Republicans and 90% of the current Democrats from the Congress.

So then, aside from that scenario, I can't think of anybody who could get both houses of this Congress together and not have that be a disaster for society.

Rather than think that it's the President's job to do the impossible and get all the wackos -who we voted into congress to do the impossible- to 'work together,' we might ought to think a bit harder about the next nut case we are considering voting to the House or Senate.

Just a thought.

Well, first off; I don't want this country to be a "dominant force internationally" except if we're counting GNP, standard of living, standard of health care, etc. I'm tired of being the world's police force. We don't need to "bring democracy to everyone". That's one of the biggest ills we suffer in this country.

To answer the OP:

I was a supporter of and worked for Allen Keyes. I have repeatedly said that I would follow Gen. Powell to the very gates of Hell. I think Ben Carson might be smart and humble enough to either get the job done or get the right people working for him to get it done.

Having said that, even these men are "lesser of two evil" choices. I would love to see a true constitutional libertarian run for office. I don't think there are any that are recognizable on a national level.

Bill Cosby. And whle I don't think he has all the answers, I think he has what it takes to lead. That said I don't think he is stupid enough to consider running so I will never get the chance to find out.

I can't think of any individual who stands out, although the problem here is that Americans don't vote for individuals as much as they vote for political parties.

hot4bondage -> RE: Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/27/2014 8:05:21 AM)

Gary Johnson, the former two-term governor of New Mexico. He won a purple state twice on a mostly libertarian platform.

mnottertail -> RE: Instead of bitching and whining ..... (10/27/2014 8:08:26 AM)

Which isn't hard to do, to look brilliant while your state gets around $2 back for each $1 put into the fed.

That man is red welfare state personified. Hardly the libertarian pastiche, is it?

All of which we suck at.

I'm tired of being the world's police force.

Are you running out of children to feed the war machine?

We don't need to "bring democracy to everyone". That's one of the biggest ills we suffer in this country.

We don't have it here so how would it be posible to export what you do not have?

Why would anyone follow that phoquing liar.

Perhaps if you were to explane what a constitutional libertarian is it would be helpful.

I've had your trolling fingertips on ignore for some time now, but a friend of mine alerted me to this.

You are well aware that I lost a son who was serving in this country's military This comment is quite possibly one of the most insensitive I have ever received from any of the Pablum pukers that inhabit these boards (and that speaks volumes).

This kind of comment makes me wonder if you even rise to the level of human being and then I remember that you are a shining example of a typical leftist that will use any means - even disgusting ones - to try and roll us closer to that slippery slope.

I'd call you a scumbag but I'm fearful of insulting used condoms, everywhere.

It would appear that all of the punkassmotherfuckers who claim to have me on ignore have a "friend" to alert them of what I say.[8|] You are the punkassmotherfucker who crawls into my profile and leaves me a picture of yourself making obscene gestures like some adolescent mongoloid.

You are well aware that I lost a son who was serving in this country's military

You sent your son off to kill poor people to make rich people richer....they shot back and now you have a case of the ass and want everyone to feel sorry for you.
You have never been to the bar-b-q and I have...multiple times. I know what men smell like after they have had a napalm bath. I know what a mans head looks like as it explodes in the sights of an m1 rifle you are a punkass chairborn ranger.

This comment is quite possibly one of the most insensitive I have ever received from any of the Pablum pukers that inhabit these boards (and that speaks volumes).

Pablum pukers [8|]I have been much more insensitive with an m1 rifle than you have a clue about. In 1967 I informed everyone in my family that if I caught them anywhere near a recruters office I would chop off their trigger finger. Had you admonished your son in a similar fashion he would still be alive. But no you filled his head with the moronic shit you post here and now you snivel instead of owning your own shit...grow the fuck up.

This kind of comment makes me wonder if you even rise to the level of human being

If sending ones children off to kill poor people to make rich people richer is what makes you human then I would suggest you take a class in basic ethics.

and then I remember that you are a shining example of a typical leftist that will use any means - even disgusting ones - to try and roll us closer to that slippery slope.
Just what slipery slope is this one?[8|]

I'd call you a scumbag but I'm fearful of insulting used condoms, everywhere.

That is really all you have...you never discuss anything you just call those who disagree with your peurile ignorance leftist as if that had some relevence.
Should you ever grow the balls that god gave a girl scout you would engage those you disagree with in dialog. Tomcat says "anytime baby"
