Try again.

The Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan Washington group whose job is to track political spending, estimates that candidates, parties, committees, outside groups and donors spent $3.67 billion on the 2014 midterm elections, $40 million more than what was spent in 2010.

According to the center, "Team Red," code for Republican-aligned groups, spent about $1.75 billion across the country by the time all the bills are paid. "Team Blue," Democratic-aligned groups, spent $110 million less, about $1.64 billion.

The remainder of the money comes from groups that wouldn’t fit into one box or the other.

And the way to empower those people is dump the fuckin insurance companies. Give them real freedom and control. Not the illusion of it, while skinning their wallets.

Give lazy, fat assed bureaucrats and crony politicians total control?

Why, because you really love pain, punishment, humiliation and being owned that much?

Yeah, health care access for those who have been, heretofore shutout, will make slaves of us all
where do you get these views ?

Yet another straw man fallacy

"Single payer" would be more than just healthcare for those of you who are indigent, its also government healthcare (and therefore bureaucratic control over our lives) forced on everyone, including those who can pay their own way and prefer to pay their own way

Probably everyone favors indigent care, and we already have that in many different forms

No country in the world with single payer doesn't allow people to pay for care outside the government system. You need to have the nurse increase your meds again.

Free government cheese, only three times the cost of regular cheese

What a deal

Meanwhile, inside Sanity's brain "logic" section . . .

Aside from pulling cost data out of your ass, the cheese program is dead.

It started under your national-debt-quadrupling hero, Reagan, and ended early in Clinton's first term.

What your point is NOW, only the fairies in your imaginary brain center know.

FR

More intelligent leftists than we have here on this site bemoan their stunning losses to the Republicans

Unfortunately, the best wisdom our board leftists have to offer is ridiculing posts that they pretend are far over their heads

Par for the course though, here on collarchat

Ok, what are the Republicans going to do in the 150 days they are in session before the General Election? Knowing that Democrats will undermine in a number of different ways. An how? Well, they wanted the Republican/Tea Party pull all the tricks in the previous six years, so why not use the same crap back at them....

Yes a 150 days (give or take a week). They have to show they are the better deal for America. They have to get shit down! And the American people are...PISSED...at Congress when it accomplishes little or nothing. So this Republican/Tea Party is up against the most epic shit storm since that tiny village in Asia met up with the full might of Genghis Khan! And you know what's going to happen? Like that tiny village, they are going to get...STEAMROLLED. Each GOP/TP'er will get ass raped by five guys larger than Arnold in his prime....no lube....

Have a look at the article, and then reply, if you have anything intelligent to add.

(Just a suggestion).

There's no doubt Republicans have had much better long term strategies regarding gathering and consolidating their own power.

Alas, they're pretty clueless about actually solving any problems effectively beyond their own power.

But in this area, absolutely, they have the upper hand. As Will Rogers used to observe, "I don't belong to an organized political party -- I'm a Democrat."

Republican leadership is also much more willing to take polarizing stances. Democrats' leaders can be spineless.
