ORIGINAL: smileforme50 I don't understand why they don't just get rid of urinals and make all bathrooms unisex with toilets in stalls. It really would solve a lot of problems with crowds and waiting. Although it would help if more guys learned to aim before this kind of change is made.... Absolutely not!!! No unisex toilets with me, because men always pee all over the seat! I had a unisex toilet for the first 11 yrs of my working life and the toilet seat is always filled with men's pee splattered all over it. It's gross!! I was so mad that I started putting up signs telling men to please be considerate and aim properly!! And then what happens is, women refuse to sit on it because there is pee on it, and then they stand on the seat and squat to pee, which creates even grosser mess, dirty pee footprints, it's an absolute disaster!! Must be a stressful Place of work when men don't even have the time to aim properly! Seriously I can't remember the last time I saw a pissed down toilet neither. I encounter it occasionally in situations where there is a single restroom for both men and women in some kind of public setting. They're lockable and used by only one person at a time. But if they're not cleaned very often and used by many people over the course of a few hours, a lot can happen. I'll sometimes go into one of these restrooms, look at the condition of the toilet seat and thank my lucky stars that I don't have to sit down on it. With urinals, it's a bit different, since one can stand a bit closer and there's a somewhat larger "target" to aim for. But for some reason, the floor in front the urinals typically might be a bit "stained." In some cases, one might even find such a sticky, gooey mess in front of a urinal, which makes me wonder if someone was trying to see how far away they could stand and still hit the urinal. Maybe it's more sub-conscious and primal, wanting to "mark our territory," so to speak. One of my first jobs was working at a hotel, and one of my tasks was to clean the public restrooms off the lobby. I began to notice patterns between the general condition of the men's and women's bathrooms. The toilets and floors around them were typically more dirty in the men's bathrooms, although the women's bathrooms tended to go through paper towels and toilet paper a lot faster. The sinks and basins in the women's restrooms were also more heavily used, while a lot of men wouldn't wash their hands after going, so the sinks in the men's room stayed pretty clean for the most part. Trash can almost empty.
