my congrats and support to you. i do know what you are going thru. i went back to school when i was 41 and had 3 children in elementary school. Since i have graduated and finding my Master, my self confidence has soared and the weight has dropped like a rock. also it will help with Y/your relationship tremendously in the end. It will make a world of differnce. It is not an easy road at all. But the light at the end of that tunnel will bask you in warmth and love. Please let me know how you are doing with it all and if i can give you any support i would be more than happy to.

sephis,

Here is a lesson for you.  I just had a woman who I have been flirting with and making plans with tell me to go jump in a lake, she did so in the nicest of ways but the end result is the same.

It sucked but I told her I was proud of her for seeing that what she needed did not match what I was offering and she was mature and level headed enough to realize it and walk away.

You need to learn you don't need someone in your life, you don't need his, mine, gods, or anyone elses approval, just yours.   Learn to do that and the rest will follow.

Just remember this. You started mothering at a very young age. So hey,...you're still young! NEVER forget that. You've got tons of living to do. And yes, now is the time to start. You've gotten some pretty good wisdom out of the folks here and much is worth persuing and thinking about.

The one hour per day is really the easiest and cheapest way to feel successful. If you can do that, then you can keep going. Keep going anyway. You've got to show those kids the way. Be the good role model that you want to be. I went back to school at 33. Best thing I ever did for myself. No it didnt earn me bucko bucks. But Im not done yet either. And my minds in much better shape for it.

Do it girl. Whatever you find that you like, then do it. And dont back down.  I was exhausted for 5 years straight. But I've got a masters degree now to prove I must have been there. All I know is that if I can do it, anyone can.

Good for you for wanting to better yourself both mentally and physically. You probably don't want a lot of diet advise, but you may want to check out the South Beach plan because it is such a healthy way to lose and to continue to eat for a lifetime and is easy to adapt for the entire family. Feel free to email me on the other side if you want more info, we have a great support group on aol.[:)]

Good Going!!!  you have faced the first huge hurtle realizing you have needs.  It seems to me you have done a ton of soul searching and self reflection many people never do that.  You have chosen to move forward rather than wallow in self pity, yet another move that is only positive.  Do not let the momentum stop.  Dont get frozen in your new path.  I can fully understand difficulties with money.  My suggestion is what about taking 30-60 mins each day and walking, by yourself.  This will give you both your own time as well as exersize.  Walk with purpose, stand tall and proud as you walk.  Talk to yourself, tell yourself what you are good at, what good things you have done in your life, what good things you can still do.  When the fears or negative thoughts come visually push them away, train yourself to think in a positive frame.

As well your local library will have books on nutrition etc.  Start there, this can only be positive for everyone in the family.  There are ways on a limited budget to eat better, healthier and still be economical.

In moving forward for yourself you will be a better slave for your Master, a better Mother for your kids as well you will teach them through observation how to be a better person.  Our kids learn from us even when we are not speaking.

This can only be a great, wonderful, positive move for you and your entire family.

Keep up the great work

I've never met a person in my entire life who didn't benefit from a martial arts class. It tones you, helps you lose weight, gives you confidence, helps with flexibility, blah blah... i could go on for hours... and thats probably a literal statement. That and you get to wear the cutest little pajamas. KIDDING. You don't have to be super in shape to start either. I remember the sweetest woman in my class, mother of two, and a tad round... Like I said, sweetest woman ever, but lord almighty if you crossed her... Completely confident in herself and rightly so, she could kick my ass and I was 40 years her junior. It's not all about ass kicking either. There are plenty of arts, Tai Chi being the most widely known, which involve little to no sparring whatsoever. I found that I was never so calm and happy with myself as after a long class where I put my all in. Thats just one suggestion though.
