stebbinsd -> Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 4:24:52 PM)

I'm noticing a strange pattern amongst masochists, and I'm starting to wonder if this is really, really contrived. I won't name names, because that got me in trouble once before. But this is really ... really ... really contrived!

A single instance of this, by itself, doesn't really raise much suspicion. It's when I keep seeing this (and when I say this, I mean ... this exact combination) that makes it seem suspicious. It's like how the Nostalgia Critic - in his most recent Commercials episode - pointed out that all the Sunny Delight commercials had the kids passing by milk, soda, and "purple stuff," but every commercial - despite depicting a different family - had the EXACT same other drinks in their fridge, in the EXACT same order! This, according to him, was what was weird.

Here's the strange pattern I'm noticing out of slaves who come on here, looking for a master to torture them relentlessly in the most cruel and extreme ways imaginable:

They are all willing to give me a single picture of themselves, but that's it. The first picture, they give without hesitation. But anything beyond that? Nope, that's leaking too much about themselves on the Internet!

But strangely, they are all in college, seeking a master to dominate them online until they can finish their degrees. Fine, but here's where it gets weird:

- They are all unwilling to show themselves on webcam.

- They are all looking to completely disappear after graduating. This would seem to suggest that their college education would be worthless to them, but they all insist on finishing it anyway because ... fuck you, that's why.

- They aren't even willing to so much as show a picture of the injuries I have them inflict upon themselves. Why? Because ... well ... privacy, that's why. Even though their privacy is only supposed to last until they graduate (getting a degree that they will never use, simply for the sake of having it).

Look, I can imagine that there's a "no limits" slave out there like that. This scenario, standing by itself, seems plausible enough, and the "privacy" argument does make a small amount of sense. However, as this EXACT COMBINATION appears on about a half a dozen or so slaves makes me wonder if this is all some elaborate gag!

I wonder ... is anyone else noticing this trend? This really bizzare swarm of college-aged masochists who are looking to satisfy their pain fetish, but won't even reveal who they are, beyond a single damned photo, and who want to finish their degree because ... reasons? And they won't do diddly shit for you until then, but oh, they want you to torture them!

This reminds me of an article I read on cracked.com once. It was written by a cop, who had been told by countless arrestees who got caught with drugs in their pockets "These aren't my pants." This was the first thing that popped into their minds, and lo and behold, everyone else who gets caught (dare I say ... with their pants down?!) has the same idea!

This cop's joke (since cracked.com is a comedy site first and foremost) in response to this trend was "apparently there's some giant pool of pants that I'm not aware of, and hundreds of guys just pick their pants randomly out of that pile," or something to that effect.

So, anyone else noticing this swarm of contrived masochists on here?

RockaRolla -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 4:31:25 PM)

Dude, they're fakes. I don't think many are running into this problem here because most aren't seeking to cyberdom every attractive maso they come across.

Dude, they're fakes. I don't think many are running into this problem here because most aren't seeking to cyberdomme every attractive maso they come across.

Who said I'm "lookign" to cyberdomme? We start chatting, and it comes up that they're in college, looking to cyberdomme until they finish their degree. Then, the pattern emerges, like clockwork.

But I'm not going to avoid messaging a girl just because she doesn't have a very thorough and detailed profile. If anything, I message her with questions that her profile doesn't answer!

I'm currently chatting with a scorching hot Asian chick in the UK who seems very, very real. She isn't looking to finish anything. She's acknowledged the possibility of dropping everything if she finds Mr. Perfect.

But she's also being very realistic about dropping everything. She's not going to drop everything at the drop of a hat (no pun intended). He really does have to be Mr. Perfect, and that's going to take a long time to convince her that I am. So ... she's being realistic.

So please, don't go accusing me of "wanting to cyberdom every attractive maso." Many of these don't even have pics in their profiles!

RockaRolla -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 4:50:47 PM)

(Original use of "cyberdomme" was a typo. It's been fixed.)

Well let's see. You're chatting up women, trying to get more pictures out of them and demanding they inflict pain on themselves for you. Sounds like cyberdomming to me, or the beginnings thereof. Even if you're not "looking," you've certainly found it.

But yes, they're most likely lying to you. Maybe it's a bunch of individuals jumping on some new technique to get wank fodder, or maybe it's an organized romance scam effort.

thorneyone -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 4:58:48 PM)

If its the same Asian girl I messaged a while back it is a scam. I got as far as yahoo messenger and I got two photos of a white girl I recognised as having messaged some weeks ago.
I'm tired of the fakes on here. It's no ones fault, it just goes with the territory. I swore I would never go to any munches but it seems it's the only place I am ever going to meet anyone on here.

I would appreciate it if you would actually understand what I'm saying before you start accusing me of shit. If I'm not being clear, you can always ask questions.

And I'm only interested in "cyber" domming to start. Slaves would have to relocate eventually, per my rules. It's just ... what can they offer me in the meantime?

Besides, Cyberdomming, in and of itself, is an honorable arrangement (well ... honorable by BDSM standards). It helps decide if the two are compatible as partners and as soulmates, in a low-risk environment. There's nothing inherently wrong with cyberdomming, as long as both parties are acting mutually, putting forth mutual effort, and there's a mutual meeting of the minds between them. Case in point: The aforementioned Asian British girl!

It's just that, in this case, they aren't doing that. They aren't meeting me in the middle.

quote:

My guess is that it's the former. I highly doubt it's an organized romance scam effort, seeing as how some of them have made some bullshit attempt at proving that they're real by offering to relocate at their expense (rather than mine) and even take out huge loans (seeing as how they won't need their credit rating afterwards) to give ME money when they arrive, rather than asking me to send THEM money!

Sounds, to me, like the complete opposite of a romance scam.

Only problem is ... most of them are years away from graduation, so that's a trivial reward in my opinion.

shiftyw -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 5:04:55 PM)

I'm sorry to tell you, its likely they are fake, and not at all masos.

It could very easily be one man. Looking for wank fodder. Or perhaps eventually they'll ask you for money for college.

Who knows?

I'd stop if you notice these "coincidences", because you're correct, this is contrived, and you're buying what they are selling, so look for someone in your area, perhaps if it looks too good to be true, approach with some healthy skepticism, and stop biting so easily because they're attractive and young.

Look up the show "catfish" and you'll see how often and easily these things are done...

I've already told you I'm in talks with a sub who seems very real! It's not like I don't have you covered!

Stop what? Stop using collarspace altogether? That's not happening! I've found plenty of very real subs on here!

I'm perfectly capable of staying away from obvious fakes!

Excuse me?!!! Don't go accusing me of doing anything without proof to back it up!

I'm not "buying" what they're selling! I ALREADY AM approaching with healthy skepticism!

Dude, why do you think I made this thread in the first place?!

This just pisses me off even more than the fakes! Oh, somebody wouldn't make a thread about something being really contrived while at the same time ACTUALLY THINKING THAT IT'S CONTRIVED! No, he simply HAS to be some gullible little bitch who believes anything you tell him as long as you flash a pair of tits in his face! We've gotta talk down to him, because there's not a snowball's chance in hell that he already knows the truth!

Hey, while we're at it ... I don't think I ever fully grasped the concept of wiping my own ass! Would you care to give me step by step instructions on that, too?

shiftyw -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 5:21:29 PM)

I added the below bold parts in response to this...

^ Then why are you here ASKING about it? Are you not dissapointed or frustrated when they disappear? I was apologizing because I thought you might take offense to what I have to say, and I'm sad to see I was right...

Why are you insisting these ladies are real then, when two of us have told you it is likely they aren't?

Dude, why do you think I made this thread in the first place?!

I'm really not sure anymore...

Again, are you warning us about this? Are you bitching about it? or are you asking about it? I don't understand why you started this thread if you weren't questioning whether or not they were fake? and I apologized because I didn't want to seem like I was attacking your manhood or domliness...but clearly I did a poor job of answering what I THOUGHT was your question.

shiftyw -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 5:22:58 PM)

Perhaps a better answer to your original post is...Yes, sometimes people are fake on the internet. I agree.

My purpose was to ... start a friendly discussion. I was just curious if doms on here were experiencing the same contrived pattern that I was. It would have made for good discussion fodder.

Just like other active threads on this board "Things I wish I knew when I was younger" and "difficult decisions at some point in life."

shiftyw -> RE: Anyone else running into this problem, on here? (12/7/2014 5:36:34 PM)

Your original post, to me, doesn't sound like that.

Plus, there are a huge amount of discussions on fakes here, it is not really a topic many of us care to discuss anymore (sorry to say that, I'm just unsure of how to say that without sounding like a bitch, my intention is to inform you of the community you are walking into, not offend you)

To get back to what I now know to be your original intention- they seem contrived because they are contrived. They are fakes, many consider that a waste of their time so they don't engage in them and may not have very many experiences to discuss with you, because they avoid them.

Your tone isn't heading in the friendliest direction. To answer your questions, yes, Doms generally experience several patterns of being approached, which usually signal one of many scams that are regurgitated through this site. There are quite a few threads on the forum that already ask a similar question, and most of the discussions spiral into frustration and negativity.

Perhaps it would be constructive for you to introduce a lighthearted question from your perspective if you'd like to have a friendly discussion. Otherwise, the bottom line usually comes down to ignoring the scammers or coming up with a quick filtering process that works for you. Since you mentioned you've found worthy subs on here, maybe it would save you some grievance if you just blocked the ones that are approaching you with this scripted college scpiel.

The most recent sub ... I only just spoke to today! I spent five minutes with her, and told her to get out of my sight.

But, you're somehow suggesting that there's a way to telepathically tell when a person is a fake, versus when they simply don't have their profile filled out all the way, without ever having to exchange a single sentence with them. Care to fill me in on how to use this superpower you speak of?

The thing is, you aren't starting a discussion with a valid point and question.

You make a statement - about fakes.
Something we see with regular monotony on here and it's very tired.

Then you try to say there is a pattern that you notice.
DUH!! It's soo bleedin obvious that it couldn't shout it any louder. [8|]

Now you start arguing the toss about it.

FFS dude!! They are ALL fucking fakes.
They inhabit every damned dating and kink site on the interwebz.
They all operate with the same storyline.
The object is to wangle money out of you somewhere along the line. It's a scam.

If you see the same pattern - block and move on.

Wow, what a tantrum.

Baby Dom starts a bitch thread and then goes postal when not getting validated.

Dude, concentrate on the one slave you have and grow up.

So, you seem to be capable of finding some success on this site. What people here are suggesting is that you think about not entertaining the scammers if it's annoying you to this degree.

If you want to have a "friendly" discussion here, then please suggest something to talk about it. You haven't really provided that in your first post and this thread is turning into you defending your right to complain about something that's already been brought up plenty of times (especially in that first thread I linked).
