Try reading the replies, honey.

I posted this to see what Doms had to say...not subs, anyway! If I wanted your opinion I would have posted in ask a sub...

Your opinion can be kept to yourself!

Of course you did and of course you posted it here just to hear from Doms. I'm afraid some do not respect your desire and somehow try and make you feel wrong in suggesting they respect your wishes. Somehow they feel you should hear their opinion even if you obviously don't want it. There is a legitimate reason for wanting answers from a targeted audience, but since they don't respect you, then perhaps you should simpy not reply to them. Let them post and you focus on those you want to read because that is your right.

Everyone, especially intelligent adults, always has the option of listening only to the answers they want to hear. But if you don't want to be exposed to everyone's opinion, perhaps don't shout your question to the world at large?

In spite of the title of the forum, it is public and open to everyone.

Your post, Arturas, was not a direct answer to the original question. Should you be admonished for that? After all... the OP's hissy fit that you are responding to is not a question, but a statement... and the name of the forum is ASK a master... making it clear - if you want to be literal - that only questions and answers are permitted.

;-)

Your post, Bhruic, was not a direct answer to the original question. But I won't admonish you fo rit since in forums, we do not focus on direct answers to the original question or the forum debate would be very short indeed!

Show me a thread where only direct answers were permitted. Until then, keep on admonishing me as you like!

Calling the OP's post a hissy fit is inacurate. Saying that she is frustrated would more accurate and she has a right to be and a right to express it without your approval or mine. My suggestion to ignore those who are not her target audience is the best option she has, I am afraid, and the best for you too.

SinFix -> RE: submissive rights... (1/11/2015 4:22:44 PM)

Just a general observation, but has anyone else noticed that only subs posting questions in the "ask a master" forum ever have hissy fits when anybody other than a dominant posts a response. I have yet to see one throw a fit because a dominant responded in the "ask a submissive" forum...

Actually IIRC it did happen a few years back but I could be wrong.

Lol.. well damn it, why didn't I get the memo? I never get the memo [:(]

Though our endearing Arty, loves to point out the fact that subs shouldn't post here given the name, has no problem being hypocritical and posting in ask a sub.. which begs the question.. Is he a switch hitter?

Edit cause of the sadistic bastard that created auto fill and auto correct..

We've been trying to figure that out since he started hanging out on the Gorean Board trying to convince us he's a Gorean. He's all yours now. Sorry.

PavlovsPup -> RE: submissive rights... (1/11/2015 8:05:41 PM)

You're right and he's an ignorant ass and NOT a Dom for you.
His "style" might work for some on this site but don't go against what you want. EVER.
No one - not even "the one" is worth that and when you find "the one" He will understand and respect your wants, needs and "rules."
Be careful - trust your instincts - don't do anything you are not comfortable with.

This is one of those times I wish we had a "Like" button. Perfect advice, OP if I were you I would take note of this post.

I don't post in Ask the Gardener or Ask the Engineer or Ask the Social Science Professor boards/threads/whatever either, despite what access I have technically have, because it's clear to me I'm not being addressed, and can happily read while those in the capacities asked about explain their perspective.

If someone says in a conversation "Hmmm....so what about a female view on this," I don't then offer "the female" view just because I'm able to speak.

It's a matter of self-control and respect, not a "I can do whatever I want" matter, in my view.

It's open to everyone but questions aren't directed at everyone. Each section is for questions directed at specific people in this case Masters. I would have to be an idiot or incredibly self important to think I could answer questions directed at them. Also the guidelines specify "This section is open to those wishing to ask questions of a Master, in the hope of receiving answers from that particular perspective."

ETA: that said the OP could have been less snarky in pointing out that she is looking for replies from that perspective.

SinFix -> RE: submissive rights... (1/12/2015 7:21:36 PM)

That is why I think they should rename these two forums or only allow the group noted to post, ie. only master/doms in this section and sub/slave in the other. While it is not all that confusing to most, it would cut out the snarky hissy fits new subs get when posting in this section and they get a response from a fellow submissive...

You're so good to me. Trying to get me some new rules to break and all [sm=hearts.gif]

SinFix -> RE: submissive rights... (1/12/2015 7:27:40 PM)

lol.. mo anam.. I didn't say that for you, but as a suggestion to make this the happy feel good zone that the majority want to make this place..

mo chroi, I'm not very skilled in the molly coddle aspects of kink... I may have skipped that class... but if that's what it takes to avoid another "hazing" thread, then I am game.

Jus sayin

Trouble is that doesn't allow for s-types having questions for D-types. I don't get why people have such a problem with these sections there's a section where anyone can answer questions asked.

SinFix -> RE: submissive rights... (1/12/2015 7:41:30 PM)

LOL.. I know I skipped that class, I instead went to the seduce tyrants class, much more fun and entertaining... But to stay somewhat on topic here, OP came onto this forum to pose a question to "masters", got answers from all types though resented the fact she got answers from fellow submissives. In all fairness, is that hazing? giving the name of the forum, should submissives keep their perspectives to themselves even though it could be very beneficial to newbies? The majority of newbs that come here, have that "cluelessness" about them of one true wayism, and would it benefit these forums to either "rename" them or keep status quo that has "regulars" appearing to haze and drive off the newcomers?

SinFix -> RE: submissive rights... (1/12/2015 7:44:27 PM)

Livespark that is kind of the point of this forum "ask a master" it should either be just that.. sub/doms asking dom/masters questions... or it should be renamed to show that all can answer in here.. same goes for the sub forum

edited to clarify.. the forum would be open to anyone asking the question but only the respective forum answering that question

But it's clear in the description "This section is open to those wishing to ask questions of a Master (submissive/slave etc), in the hope of receiving answers from that particular perspective. " There's no need to rename it, people just have to accept that these sections are limited to a particular perspective. It really shouldn't be such a problem.

Sadly, what many newbies fail to realize that when an S/s replies in "Ask A Master" they are usually offering very sound advice from the same side of the kneel. I learn a great deal more from our /boys and /girls than I do any of the D's. Simply because I don't give a fuck how good the jolly is for the D, I care about the side of the kneel that I will be indulging my jollies with.

Jus sayin
