We're actively looking for someone, so I put on hide anyone who patently doesn't fit our criteria. Hence I have thousands on hide and so does Sir.

Why don't you just ignore them and save the effort? Seems to me it takes more energy to hide them than to ignore their posts.

They are hiding profiles on the other side sorting out their unicorn from the massive herd.

It still takes more energy to block than to just ignore.

Ignoring requires repeated scrolling through a list of dross to find a single diamond (that probably doesn't exist anyway). Hiding requires a single click of a button. If there's an easier way than that, it hasn't been invented yet.

No it doesn't it just means scrolling past one post at a time. If there are that many posts in a row to scroll past you may want to consider opening your mind to other opinions. I've never had to scroll past more than one post more often than not I don't even have to do that.

The only folks I ever tried to put on hide was the house of lesbians and friends from Canada. They were quoted so much it was harder to skim over it that way than just leaving them visible, so it didn't last but a day or so.

Plus, sometimes it is fun to point and laugh. I am sure some do that to me on here, and some do it for me, we are all such giving people I tell ya!

Okay I admit I point and laugh at you but only when you're funny. Does that count?

The only person I ever put on hide was one who used to vomit forth HUGE posts in a pepto-pink font that were excruciatingly painful to read. Hiding posts because someone says things you don't agree with is intellectually bankrupt.

Judging by what I read before blocking that individual, I excrete more legal knowledge than she ever possessed.

You obviously haven't had the pleasure of seeing BenM's posts!
He would often have a whole page or more of just his postings of drivel and replying to himself.

He is the only one I have on hide - and it was worth the clicking of that button!!

Okay fair point lol oh man I'm glad I never had the....pleasure. The fact is though that most people here aren't like that and it really isn't that big a deal to scroll past them.

There are far too few active members these days to even consider choosing a "hide"

Sorry to hear that. I wonder why though, it's not like they actually read profiles.

Cuz there is always some dumb-ass trying to ice skate up hill. It's the whole "Wait till he/she discovers what a special snowflake I am and his/her wants, needs, et al shall change in the light of my AWESOME!"

Same crap celebs go through with less publicity.

I keep getting a message from someone and it just blows my mind that she is attempting the offer. Clearly she hasn't once read my profile.

One specifically who didnt like the way I reacted to female posters in P&R being labelled feminazis and cunts, so now, with his now"hidden misogyny" has had me on hide and continues to think Im the nastiest person in the world.

Yes it does, because I'm talking about the profiles on my homepage and not people who post in the forums. The people I hide are patently fake or not right for us, and 99% are unlikely ever to make a post here. I don't spend much time in the forums because people are so quick to judge matters about which they have no understanding, such as the openness of my mind.

I do know what you mean Lucy… there was a certain Swede who thought he was a genius… or at least he kept telling us he was. He disagreed with an opinion of mine, imagine that, and when I backed him into a corner he played like I was beneath him to argue with and put me on hide. But then when I was responding to other posters he would criticize my responses. As a side note in a third party response I told him if he did not have the guts to respond to me directly not to do it through a third party or I would report him… Will this pissed him off and he sent me a nasty note and left the forum…lol.. If you are going to give it you must be able to take it.

Another certain Australian poster sent me a nasty mail then blocked me… I deserved it because I directly called her ignorant and anti-Jewish … I was mad I admit and even tried to apologize to her. I get a kick out of her because I know she selectively takes me off hide to respond to my opinion… then when I respond to her I get no answer… I guess back on hide… Some people just cannot understand why lesser intellects dare to disagree with their superior logic…lol…and they may be right a lot of the time.

Butch

Even so my opinion stands. Personnally it takes more effort to hide all those people than to just ignore them. However to each their own.

Could someone quote this bitch? I've got her on hide because the "slated for execution" button is broken and I am curious as to what she is ranting about this time.
