Cuz if we're talking about uranus it's no longer plutonic.

Manko,

Fet is pretty big, but it is kinky FB. You have to join groups and friend feeds keep you posted better than anything.

I agree, for aspiring porn stars and their entourage.

LOL. The search feature is your friend. Usually if they have a LOT of friends, I skip them over. I like quality people and not quantity of people.
No wonder we like each other...[:D]

BINGO!

If you are only interested in a plutonic relationship, why would height, weight, and marital status matter?

Good question. I do not actively seek friends within the lifestyle, if it happens, it just happens to turn out that way. I am friendly overall meaning I seldom ignore emails unless generic "hi" with nothing else. I am complimentary to those I think deserving, everyone deserves a kind word occasionally but I am fine keeping my life compartmentalized so nothing gets terribly muddled, we have all heard the horror stories and most are alien to me. But the friends I have who are lifestyle were former subs/playmates I chat with on occasion to play "catch up" or vanilla friends who got outed to me, or me to them or both accidentally. Also I am monogamous so I have no need to seek anything poly or to network with people outside of business prospects or personal interest and I like having my energy focused, not scattered. Not all of my subs were sexual, not all have I seen naked, not all have I dated. My current sub I am on the fence about dating though he is my favorite. I would like to know if a man is married if he contacts me even if platonic. The more input I have, the better for me in understanding someone. I ask a lot of seemingly pointless questions to subs who do contact me, primarily because the answer reveals the soul.

SO not clicking that!

ExiledTyrant -> RE: Definitive Answer (1/3/2015 6:41:58 PM)

I spent christmas with Camille. Odds are good I would not have gone to spend christmas with her had she not been owned because her friendship is very valuable to me and had she been single I wouldn't want to risk that friendship in anyway. So knowing someones relationship status is important to me only if I intend to sleep in their house really.

I have to say hanging out with you was like hanging out with a brother I never knew I had, there was a great click between us without any sexual tension. Plus... pie.

I was browsing local people on FL and had it just felt weird, really impersonal somehow. There seems to be a difference in details here with the profiles plus the set up of the forum IMO makes it easier to get a glimpse of personalities posting. Here it feels like open conversations on threads, there it feels closed off to me.

Could be my innate shyness with new people, could be that the site just is hard to find ones place in.

Ha, I already know this about you Exiled. You seem like a person who stays true to his word and who follows your own personal code of honor, there is no wavering there. Both you and camille are a hoot and I'm sure it was a grand time. No offense, I know you're a Tyrant, but you're not exactly the type of dude to keep a girl up at night worried. (Sorry to break it to ya). "Oh you're going to Mexico with her, her and her? Have fun and whatever you do, don't drink the water!" [:D]

ExiledTyrant -> RE: Definitive Answer (1/3/2015 6:54:44 PM)

Posting here is a live action free for all. Fet is MUUUUUUCH slower.

camille65 -> RE: Definitive Answer (1/3/2015 6:56:31 PM)

I can't call this live action when compared to a few years ago lol, it seems terribly slow to me.

People need to post more! A lot more! Please and thank you.

Pfftttt... I've seen your brand of smoke. This has got to be warp factor 7, at least to your eyes.

Jus sayin

Well I have a few hypotheses for why that is, LOL.

sexyred1 -> RE: Definitive Answer (1/3/2015 11:04:17 PM)

To answer CD's initial question, I believe if are on a site to get customers of any type, you need to pay and its best to keep that in professional services.

It would certainly cut down on the whining about fakes and fin Dommes.

Even in vanilla world, I just started a meet up group for movies in my area and I am paying for the use of their site and promotion, even though the members don't pay.

You cannot expect a site to help you in your business and not pay.

Hmm...interesting, there are ways of maneuvering that like starting a local group on facebook or networking for group members to join yours and requiring them to pay a small fee to assist the meetup group in acquiring new members. If you have the gift of gab you can do amazing things.
I disagree about the finDommes paying, hopefully some of them already clicked the wealthy men banner, easier way to streamline things and the sub men who do complain can rest a little easier. [:D]
Also twitter, facebook, pinterest page users and most bloggers make tons of money simply pinning or blogging about things. People are also making fortunes uploading videos to youtube. This is completely free. Youtube has made many internet celebrities. And one etsy seller is making 65k a month selling from her online store. I also signed up for a free class about entrepreneurship from MIT today. Lots of free ways to make money on the internet.
I have seen some of these finDomme sites and some of them are not lazy in their tiny little enterprise they have going. I say if one pays, let everyone, self included pay.

I agree with you CD - what a surprise. Like you said the site pulls in money from advertising so it's not like the owners are doing it for free. I also don't know whether those people who advertise their services in the Professional Services section pay to advertise but if they don't they should. After all they are posting in order to make money I don't see anything wrong in their paying to do so.

Once the site enacts that policy, you'd see a severe up-tick in cleverly worded (or not so cleverly worded) posts in other sections, which would make more work for the moderators, cleaning up the errant posts.

I think that once someone lists fin/pro-dom(me) on their profile, it should become a paid account.

Then, there's the other issue:

When one of these paid accounts decides that they would like to become involved in the community and they make a non-money-searching post ... say in P&R ... but that post violates other TOS rules (Name-calling, black listing, etc.) and they get moderated, their first form of "defense" would be: "Listen, I'm a paying customer and ..." and they'd be partially right.

Now, the mods could certainly say: "Rules are rules" and they'd be right but, in the mean time, the site has already become accustomed to a certain level of revenue and if they lose enough "paying customers", they would suffer. Where would they get that revenue from, then?

I believe that only charging certain people would be a first step on a very slippery slope that would end with everyone, eventually, having to pay.

MariaB -> RE: Definitive Answer (1/4/2015 6:16:06 AM)

As far as I can see, CS doesn't charge for advertising. All I can see on here is Alt.com and Extreme Restraints which are both affiliate sites. The revenue from sales will possibly be just enough to keep the cost of this site up but I doubt very much that its in profit. I have never found a donations or members section here; is there one? if not, I certainly think a VIP members section and a site donations section would be a good idea. FL doesn't allow you to view uploaded videos unless your a paid up member but membership on that site is huge. Saying that, I don't think we can compare it to FL because it doesn’t do the same thing. Its like comparing apples with oranges.

As for having lots friends on your friends list, on FL I have many but then I'm a business woman and work within the BDSM trade. Refuse a friendship and I might just be losing a customer; that isn't an option for me.

Very good points DS. One way to avoid that might be to charge the pros for the "right" to advertise rather than to be members. It's not perfect but since those pros benefit from advertising here I see no reason why they shouldn't pay to advertise. Obviously it wouldn't be enough to keep the site running but it would help.

MariaB -> RE: Definitive Answer (1/4/2015 8:09:06 AM)

Pro Dommes won't advertise here. They either have their heads screwed on right and have all singing all dancing websites which they link to all the right sites, as well as advertising themselves on specific pro Domme sites or they are amateurs who try and pull a fast one on free sites like this but never actually earn anything. The second have no money to advertise with.

Now I find myself wanting an all singing all dancing website. [:D] But not me singing or dancing, maybe Snoopy and Woodstock.

I agree, that would seriously rock. But like you it would have to be someone else singing and dancing.
