More home safety, American style.

Friday, January 09, 2015 01:03PM
FAYETTEVILLE, NC --

A Fort Bragg soldier was shot in the chest Friday morning after his wife thought he was a home intruder.

Fayetteville Police say Zia Segule, 28, left for work. His wife, 27-year-old Tiffany Segule, set the home alarm system. Zia Segule returned to the home unannounced to surprise his wife with breakfast. The alarm sounded and Tiffany Segule, who had gotten back in the bed, shot her husband in the chest through their closed bedroom door. Police said her husband had entered through the front door, but it's unclear whether he ever announced himself or tried to turn off the alarm.

Cue the litany of posts wherein we are once again told how the majority of gun owners are responsible, self trained experts on the proper use of handguns in protecting the life, liberty and property of American citizens.
Of course any statistics that attempt to demonstrate that a gun in the house makes the occupants less safe, rather than safer, are completley rejected as nothing more than anti gun propaganda.
I'm reaching a tipping point where I don't give a shit anymore....seeing as my family has already lost a member to guns.....statistically speaking I just might be able to reach the end of my days without further tragedy touching my family
Hopefully,in this case,lightning doesn't strike twice

In a nation of 320 million you actually found anecdotal evidence, a tragedy that you just couldnt wait to use, to further your extreme far leftist troll cause

How shocking

Try not to slobber over it too much though, unfortunately for you the guy is okay

quote:

Zia Segule was able to walk and talk following the shooting, said police. He has been released from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He declined to speak in detail with media when he returned home early Friday af

The guy ok after being shot in the chest?
What Marvel universe character superhero is he then?
In the real world, it is a major trauma.

planes crash and kill people, yet we continue to fly.

car crashes kill people but we don't ban cars.

drunkenness kills people, but we do make alcohol or drunkenness for that matter, illegal.

people drown frequently, yet we allow swimming.

that people wielding guns indeed use them to protect life, liberty and property is evident for anyone with eyes to see. (do you read stories and testimonies of the people who have actually used them to this end and find yourself open to changing your mind?)

that the occasional accident happens does not disprove that homes are safer with guns in them (have you ever read the literature that speaks to the opposite of your ideological position and found weaknesses in their findings from a methods perspective? similarly, have you ever looked at studies that seem to support your view and can say without hesitation that their methods are flawless such that their conclusions are correct?) nor does it disprove that the majority of gun owners are responsible.

on a whole 'nother level---it doesn't matter if homes truly are safer or not---people have a constitutional right to own them.

as ive said before---the better and real question is, why do liberals hate guns so much?

Another life saved, liberty and property preserved!

But what if we could save a few thousand every year from injury or death... would it be worth at least re-evaluating how we regulate weapons?

Well then tell us Bullwinkle in a country like France with gun control tighter than crawling under a worms belly, where did those assholes come up with AK 47's ?

You self-righteous clowns are too much.

What makes weapons more special than swimming pools, or cars, or surfboards, Butch?

The moral of the story? Get a dog, instead of a burglar alarm.

Nothing except the purpose of each... but why should it matter if other devices and situations kill and injure... can we not try to fix them all... It makes no sense to me to say because children drown in swimming pools we should not make it safer for them around guns.

Yeah, everyone went off on the gun control knee jerk (not an opponent of the 2nd Amendment here).

Point of the story is that there are morons who own guns, and they aren't safer for it.

They are designed to kill, whereas the other items you mentioned aren't

Agreed and I am not making that assertion... I was just addressing Sanity's post and the followup from TheHeretic
