Not hardly... in the case I posted yes... only because of how outrageous it was... but Child endangerment laws are way to vague and are meant to cover all circumstances at the discretion of local authorities. The vast majority of child injuries and death by gun accidents result in no prosecution....or at least let me say in my area anyway.

We need laws specific to weapons...and it can be done very easily. I understand that if a child is killed or seriously injured authorities think it is punishment enough...and often there are more kids at home that need their parents so they don't prosecute. As hard as it is they should in my opinion if only for the exposure which may save the next kid.

That is a enforcement problem, not a law problem. Every factor you mentioned would still come into play, and it would put people at risk for teaching kids gun safety.
