didnt Jesus teach his followers to turn the other cheek, rather than seek revenge on those who murdered their families

thats why after 9/11 hundreds of thousands of innocent people were bombed into oblivion in a war that was based on lies.
yeah thats turning the cheek, and so so christian

yes, "turn the other cheek" refers to individual behavior when one has been wronged. but governments are not individuals and the new testament supports the idea that governments are recognized as a god-ordained authority. and one of the purposes of the authority is to protect the citizens of the country. we can debate what that looks like, and to what degree its taken, but we shouldnt confuse what jesus teaches for individuals with the responsibility of the government.

This will come as shocker to you, but is the 'norm' to everyone else; government are composed of individuals. When the government fucks up, we tend to either sue in the courts or yell at the elected officials. Eventually the problem(s) are analysis and with luck/skill, the problem eliminated or mitigated. That you view government as some sort of 'body of nothing' simply shows your understanding of reality.

More amusing when the pseudo-Christians claim the nation was founded on Christianity, when in fact, was founded on the freedom from the King's religion. An it wasn't places like Iowa, Utah, or Arizona, that did all the fighting. It was the original thirteen colonies. Nine states and four commonwealths.

also---people are fond of saying that the war in question here was started on the basis of "lies." I remember quite well the majority of people on both sides of the political aisle acting/voting on the intelligence that was given at the time. to call something a lie, or someone a liar, you actually have to show they knew the truth ahead of time, but then purposely decided to deceive.

to my knowledge, no ones actually done that with any aspect of starting the Iraq war.

Then you must still be living on Mars, underground, with a blanket over you all this time. The administration knew Saddam didnt have anywhere on the level of WMD's the Bush White House stated back in 2003. The intelligence community couldnt say anything because of those pesky laws. The military wanted a war to test their new toys; so overlooking the intelligence was in their favor. We as a nation assumed the US President would be privied to information that the rest of us didnt have access to. Yes, we trusted a REPUBLICAN with information (there was our mistake).

That there is a staggering number of videos over on youtube that show the Bush Administration was lying the whole time, is heavy levels of evidence right there. That Saddam came out two months before the invasion and showed his WMD program to the media. The reason he didn't do it before, is because he was afraid Iran would invade his country!

You would have to have your head up your ass for the last 11 years....NOT....to have seen the evidence.

I love hearing bullshit from conservatives. Why all the lies, wars, and such?

Put America's attention off the home front and keep it on the other side of the world. Notice what the Republicans did while all our attention was not here but 'over there'? If you objectively look at this history books, much of the conditions creating the 2007 recession and near-depression, was created in 2003-2006. Or do you want to lie that you didnt know about all that stuff too? Got plenty of evidence of that too....

Here is a question:

How many times did George W. Bush go to Dover A.F.B. to greet the honorable dead from the wars he started in Afghanistan and Iraq?

In seven years....not a single time....

In fact, he ban media people practicing their 1st amendment rights from filming the unloading process. A process when I've seen it, is pretty damn impressive! Bush & company didnt want the nation to see the....TRUE...cost of War. Or that $4 trillion dollar price tag we paid with borrowed money....

Sure

Make wild-eyed accusations, then plug your ears and scream la-la-la-la-la as loud as possible during rebuttal

No possible danger of being accused of having an open mind that way, for certain

Amid the cable news network’s declining ratings, insiders tell TheWrap changes are coming soon and “everything is on the table”

When President Obama was reelected in 2012, MSNBC was “leaning forward” and smiling wide as Obama 2.0 propelled it to record ratings and a firm grasp on the No. 2 spot in cable news.

Over two years later, the network has fallen backwards. January ratings revealed double-digit declines compared with January, 2014 in all ratings measurements. During the day, MSNBC was down 20 percent in viewers and 37 percent in the advertising-coveted 25-54 demo. In primetime, it fell 23 percent in viewers and 39 percent in demo...

I think that Abraham Lincoln's wife is the last occupant of the White House that made a habit of speaking with dead people.

Met with over 500 families of fallen soldiers.

Met with over 950 wounded veterans.

Personal letter to every family that lost a soldier.

Your beef is that he did not hold a photo op?

Only took a few keystrokes

One can safely trust that if a leftist asserts something its a lie

By Palin's 'logic', her husband and children are "foreigners" ... !!!

Palin's statement really ought to be seen as astonishing but Palin being what she is, is any one really surprised?

Perhaps the truly astonishing thing is that there are some people who think this cretin is qualified for high office, even the Presidency. She makes Bush the Dumber look like an intellectual colossus, and that really is an accomplishment. So sad that she is probably completely unaware of her accomplishment.
