cloudboy -> Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/20/2015 12:10:42 PM)

This dovetails perfectly with the other threads on the subject, and it's beautiful to see the right so thoroughly exposed as DEAD WRONG in its thinking.

Fox News Becomes the Unwilling Star of a French TV Satire

>The commotion began this month when Steve Emerson, identified as a terrorism expert, told the host Sean Hannity, “there are no-go zones” throughout Europe ruled by Muslims. He then elaborated in an interview with another Fox host, Jeanine Pirro, claiming that the entire city of Birmingham, England, was a place where “non-Muslims simply don’t go in.”<

Fox News Beats a Retreat After Gaffes About Islam

>LONDON — First, the owner of the Fox News Channel incited an outpouring of ridicule for suggesting that all followers of Islam must take responsibility for the Paris attacks. Then the Fox pundit who is a self-described terrorism expert caused a second wave of stunned disbelief, asserting that some parts of Europe — including Britain’s city of Birmingham — have become so Islamic they are off limits to non-Muslims.<

Wow, what a catch!

I think the thread it "dovetails" with is this one.

Nice going, clodboy...start a new thread on something already gone over on a new thread. And just as it's proven over and over again on that thread, there is no "Baseless Right Wing Hysteria" over Muslims...Except maybe in your closed by left-wing wispy notions

cloudboy -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/20/2015 1:02:43 PM)

It's a textbook example of what Hillwilliam was asking about. Fox wants something in the sweetspot of its audience, and rather than fact check / screen an idiot, it broadcast his views as if valid. Then it tried to duck questions on the matter.

Obviously the people of the UK all know how moral and upstanding Rupert Murdoch is. Thats why we take the remarks in his rag, Fox News, at full value.

It isnt as though his papers in the UK have ever told a lie, well apart from the Sun, and The News of The World.

The dismal apology from Fox was laughable, considering even those on the right in the UK think it is full of shit.

Mazer Mahmood would be proud of the story. [8|]

cloudboy -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/20/2015 8:55:24 PM)

Fox News specializes in creating stories and images to work up / appeal to their base. So, if the base was not irrationally worried about Sharia Law, Fox would not have bothered. The base gets worked up over the War on Christmas, Big Government taking their guns away, "socialism," reverse racism, and of course the [Mod removed nick of another member.] favorite, ISIS.

Yup, no doubt Fox is over the top. One of the main reasons I never watch them. So I have to ask, if they suck so bad why do you watch it so much? Are you really willing to throw away that many hours in a day just so you can point a finger and say "look what that asshole said"?

bounty44 -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/21/2015 7:33:37 AM)

your whole premise seems to be there is no such thing as a "muslim no-go zone"

since there is:

here is the only one you really need to read: http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5128/france-no-go-zones (the authors here even address your fox news "criticism")

but since more evidence is even better:

http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/2006/11/the-751-no-go-zones-of-france

http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/110514-725124-sweden-cedes-control-of-muslim-areas.htm

http://www.christianpost.com/news/sharia-law-controlled-zones-in-the-uk-52988/

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/muslim-no-go-zones-france/2015/01/13/id/618400/

http://www.clarionproject.org/analysis/dearborn-no-go-zone-where-islam-rules-and-christians-are-stoned

http://truthuncensored.net/there-are-muslim-no-go-zones-in-the-usa/

http://www.bild.de/regional/ruhrgebiet/salafismus/scharia-polizei-37540336.bild.html

http://www.redicecreations.com/article.php?id=23514

and I could go on and on and on.

you'll note that the testimonies are from citizens, law enforcement officers or the muslims themselves.

so one question here is, you've just been presented with evidence to the contrary of your position. will you change your mind or will you continue to be "dead wrong" on your thinking?

and another is, in spite of the overwhelming evidence, why would people persist in saying such places don't exist.

Not one of those is a credible source. In fact, less credible than Faux, which is to say non-extant.

usememistress775 -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/21/2015 8:23:34 AM)

Ahhh partisan politics, the only thing more idiotic than Fox News itself.

All parties give a craps about is getting reelected. They (yes both parties, even the fringe minority parties) don't care about the people. What they want is power over the people. As long as one party opposes the other on party lines instead of an actual reason then you know they don't care about the state of the country. And please don't tell me that the party system is good for those in the majority.

Also American Party Politics caused WWII, therefore it can never do enough good to balance those scales.

Citations discrediting these sources?

See the thread on Faux currently in the forums.

CoSubGirl -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/21/2015 9:15:42 AM)

So for those of you who still believe in the discredited "no go" zones that have been cited, I suggest that you read up on what those "no go" zones actually are in France.

Here's a Wikipedia article on what they are, why they were created and what they do. You can also read the government sites on what the ZUS are. You'll have to translate both articles though. But they are remarkably accurate and it wouldn't have taken these "experts" a whole lot of effort to actually do some research.

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zone_urbaine_sensible

The bozos who have declared these zones "no go" Muslim zones apparently didn't do their homework. Probably because they don't read French and don't have clue one about the culture.

My mom has lived in Paris for 40 years. I lived there for 10. We have both recently been to a number of these supposed "no go" zones. Oops - guess no one told us we weren't supposed to go there! Gasp............who knew? We also have friends who live in these zones. Middle class white French folks. No one told them either I guess.............

So yeah - definitely in the case of France I would say they don't exist because the idiots who are citing these theoretical "no go" zones have completely misinterpreted and distorted what is actually there on the ground.

They decided to interpret redevelopment zones as "no go" zones. Dumbasses.

Something relevant to the conversation; why liberals hate fox news:

Fox broke the monopoly on the otherwise liberal media and doesn’t tow the party line.

They don’t want conservative voices to be heard.

Liberals think they are right so there is no need/room for a dissenting position.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

Lucylastic -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/21/2015 10:04:34 AM)

keeep justifying all you want, they are liars, blatant liars to the point a GOP governor repeated the bullshit IN THE UK
and you wanna derail and obfuscate?

Musicmystery -> RE: Fox News -- Textbook Case of Baseless Right Wing Hysteria (1/21/2015 10:23:15 AM)

I don't hate Fox News... I just find them ridiculous. At the same time, real journalism has been dead in this country for decades.

Fox, though, isn't balance..,its propaganda. The same can be said for others, especially MSNBC.

fOx's audience wants to hear what it thinks, not what is. Nor What's true.

If Faux does not toe the party line, what line do they toe?
