hejira92 -> RE: explain your name (12/15/2006 9:05:42 PM)

hejira is an arabic word meaning pilgrimmage or spiritual journey.  I took it from my favorite Joni album and have always enjoyed the dichotomy of this "nice jewish girl" using this name. Actually, I have been using it for years- well before I ever heard of BDSM. Little did I know how close it is to the word kajira........
The 92 is my b'day- sept 2

angelspassion4u -> RE: explain your name (12/15/2006 9:14:16 PM)

DommeChains -> RE: explain your name (12/16/2006 12:12:07 PM)

Mine is pretty simple.....I absolutely love chains and I added the domme part since chains is gender neutral.

CalliopePurple -> RE: explain your name (12/16/2006 4:55:57 PM)

Calliope - muse of epic poetry, pipe organ that plays at a circus, species of hummingbird. I love poetry, though I rarely write it anymore, Greek mythology is a fascination and has been for years, I used to live in the hometown of the Ringling Brothers Circus (Baraboo, WI), and although I didn't know about the bird association until recently, I happen to have a thing for the concept of wings and flight.

Purple - aside from being my favorite color, it was my belt in karate at the time I first created the name/persona and it's the color of bisexual pride.

jdtallfem -> RE: explain your name (12/16/2006 5:09:27 PM)

JD are my initials, and I'm a tall female.  Had it for awhile.

FullCircle -> RE: explain your name (12/16/2006 5:21:43 PM)

To start again but with more knowledge and understanding than you had before. Practice makes perfect and perfect is defined by those that require you to practice.

BRNaughtyAngel -> RE: explain your name (12/16/2006 5:23:06 PM)

BR is for Baton Rouge - the area where I live.

Naughty Angel is because it describes me quite well.

When I started using chats and online forums I didn't want to use my real name so I used as a nick "Lord William W. Wizer" but it's too long to write it.

dcnovice -> RE: explain your name (12/17/2006 7:06:55 AM)

Mine is sadly prosaic. I live in DC, and I'm new to WIITWD.

Uyraell -> RE: explain your name (12/23/2006 2:18:18 AM)

Personal interest in history , and personal history both influenced my choice of nickname,  though knowledge of Latin and other languages helped, since I did not intend or wish to use the Latin variant.
I  also published poetry under this nickname, and have since written more, so have decided to retain it permanently,  and employ it as the most frequently used I have.
To those who don't know, ^Uyraell^ was the personal name of the DeathAngel,  in legend.
As large parts of my life have been near and in the Funeral Industry, it seemed apt.
Finally, the DeathAngel is not actually the Grim Figure that western cultural values have come to reflect : in earlier times ^He^ was as much a Guide of Souls and Care-er of Journeyers,  as ^He^ is now seen as dealing exclusively in death.
Blessed Be,                                                                                       ^Uyraell^
