Yet this very post shows you why it is almost impossible to take the fight to them. They have no fixed base, in an area of the world with no real borders. They move fluidly between Syria and Iraq, just as the Taliban and AQ move fluidly between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

As for stopping them, well there was one thing GWB and Blair could have done (although I doubt Tony got much say) And that would have been to do what Bush Cheney et al claimed they would do. BUILD AN INCLUSIVE IRAQ. The day Bremer sacked the majority of Sunnis from any posts they held in the Government/Army, then the seeds of today were sown. AQ gained a stronghold among the Sunni, something they never had, despite georges claim, when saddam was in power. Infact back in 2010 American forces had killed most of the original leaders of ISIL, many of the new leaders come from the original Baathist officers who were under Saddam.

Does anyone doubt that if they had had better equality under Shia rule, we would be where we are today.

The seeds for ISIS were sewn when Barack Obama laughingly called them "Junior Varsity" as he headed out to the golf course

Under Saddam & Sons the Baathists (Sunnis) ruled over the Shia and everyone else in Iraq with bloody iron fists. Whatever the question, genocide was the answer

The perfect people in your view to run Iraq, but thats no surprise

Found a way to blame the President....I'm truly shocked

Silly me, even a troll like you knows that Bush is secretly at fault for everything Obama does

So, Obama called ISIS "Junior Varsity" because they were well established already?

I know this is difficult for a simplistic all or nothing guy like yourself, but there are degrees of threat.

You must be absolutely terrified of Iran and North Korea then.

Not important, considering that there are thousands of golf courses

Come on, Sanity. This president, a true darling of the left has always enjoyed accolades (and rim-jobbing) from the lock-stepping lefties while shouldering no blame for his many failed policies/actions.

Don't you think religious fanatics, running wild, beheading innocents is a good thing? Obama didn't seem to find it an issue.

Don't you think the government, taking over about 1/6 of our economy is a good thing? Socialists and Obama thought it was a good thing.

Don't you know that continue the some of the policies (Bailouts) of a former president and then, blaming that president for all of his woes was an excellent political strategy? Obama did.

You need to get with the program, six years in: When Obama fucks up, it's Bush's fault. When he is the benefactor of good timing (luck), the praise goes to the chosen one.

After all, "God damn America!" Right?

Michael

Perhaps he hasnt "said" that here but that is his general meme
And no, you are mistaken about ISIS. ISIS formed in Syria (which as far as American foreign policy is concerned, todays Syria is Obamas baby, and his alone)
When the burgeoning ISIS issue was brought to Barack Obamas attention early on, Obama very publicly chose to ignore it
Now Obamas baby is all grown up
Or put another way, Obamas chickens have come home to roost

It's Clinton's fault!!!!

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant:
    quote:

    The group originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999
, which was renamed Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn—commonly known as al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI)—when the group pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda in 2004. Following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, AQI took part in the Iraqi insurgency. In 2006, it joined other Sunni insurgent groups to form the Mujahideen Shura Council, which shortly afterwards proclaimed the formation of an Islamic state, naming it the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). The ISI gained a significant presence in Al Anbar, Nineveh, Kirkuk and other areas, but around 2008, its violent methods, including suicide attacks on civilian targets and the widespread killing of prisoners, led to a backlash from Sunni Iraqis and other insurgent groups.[a]

Jordan has executed two of its ISIS prisoners. It is a start.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/02/03/islamic-state-jordanian-pilot/22798055/

After ISIS execution, angry King Abdullah quotes Clint Eastwood to U.S. lawmakers ( http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/after-isis-execution-angry-king-abdullah-quotes-clint-eastwood-to-u.s.-lawmakers/article/2559770 )

Hunter would not say which part of "Unforgiven" the king quoted, but noted it was where Eastwood's character describes how he is going to deliver his retribution. There is a scene in the picture in which Eastwood's character, William Munny, says, "Any man I see out there, I'm gonna kill him. Any son of a bitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only going to kill him, I'm going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down."

Heh.
