Week 1, Vote for the speaker and pass law friendly to Wall Street Bankers.

Week 2, debate deporting children.

Week 3, debate rape and incest exceptions for abortion.

Week 4, Politicize the funding of the Department of Homeland Security

Week 5, Vote to repeal the ACA for the 50+ time

And your point is?

Voting in a Speaker is basic to the rules of order. And in passing a bill favorable to Wall Street is just paying back the campaign funding regardless of political party.. you expect anything different in any politician?

Debate on whether to depart under age illegal immigrants or granting a humanitarian visa... yeah, I expect them to debate that.

Personally I don't think the national government has any business making decisions on a woman's health. I do see a debate between those that would leave it up to a doctor and ones that want Medicaid money withheld from funding abortions. Why not debate as there ARE differences of opinion on the matter?

The funding for Department of Homeland Security should be highly politicized. Funding the Gestapo should never be done lightly.

And I'm glad they are trying to repeal a bit of legislation that is unworkable and just serves to funnel more money into things that provide only a limited benefit to a limited number of people. ACA is an excellent example of government selling something as a cost savings that actually costs the people more for less benefit.

And you are surprised by this why ?
Just look at the first response
Why actually get anything of import done when you can hold the same vote 50 times and your apologists have no issues.
You get the government you deserve, with the large percentage of idiots in this country and the carefully gerrymandered congressional districts. This is what you get.

Is that why the Dems get in once in awhile? The idiots and the gerrymandering? Knew there had to be reasons.

No, it's about the only way the repubs get a majority.

Have the Dems held the house since the districts were redrawn ?
I'll wait while you check that

Aren't Districts redrawn after every census? I guess that means that, yes, the Dem's have won the House after Districts get redrawn...

Both parties gerrymander when they can.
Neither party has a constructive platform.

The big difference in Republican and Democrat are which big businesses are pulling their strings.

Its Republicans in Congress. Why should they work hard or efficiently? The people who put them into office bitch all day about nothing useful getting done in Congress, and blame it all on Democrats. Why in hell would they want to hold the people they support and elect into public office to the same level of accountability and responsibility as they slam the President and Democrats on an hourly basis? We'd have better government almost overnight!

One party and half the GOP is interested in Immigration Reform.

The Democrats passed health care reform and actually staff the EPA and SEC with enforcement personnel.

Religion & Anti-abortion rhetoric does not dominate Democratic thinking.

All that said, each party needs big money to win Congressional and Presidential elections.

Republican Party Platform: Whatever Democrats don't want.

Democrat Party Platform: Whatever Republicans don't want.

Now each of the parties chooses a special issue to get behind to make it a talking point against the other.

Republican talking points: 2nd amendment (in a reformed sense), rich people and repealing "Obamacare"

Democrat talking points: Gun control, poor people and public healthcare

Republicans only care about getting elected, but guess what so do Democrats. (not the voting party members, the politicians themselves)

To paraphrase your response: "I'm not going to answer the question."

It's okay. I know why. I'm not disagreeing that Republicans gerrymander. I've brought it up in regards to Ohio. I wrote a letter to Gov. Kasich opposed to the Republican's map because of it.

But, to deny that Democrats have ever done it...

Yeah, it's the GOP House. And you blame others for complaining about nothing getting done? How many House-passed bills were voted on in the Senate?
