Chaucer's Mead: http://chaucerswine.com/

And I'll admit that this isn't our usual wine thread... how refreshing.

Me too!!!!

A few I like Cloudy Bay, Kim Crawford, Duckhorn, (none of these are expensive)

RemoteUser -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 6:28:16 PM)

Wait.

There's more than one wine?

They have names???

(Jesus, I need to pay more attention to what falls in my mouth.)

GoddessManko -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 6:28:37 PM)

THIS is nice! I'm a red drinker. My favorite restaurant has an amazing wine system, the hubby built it for his wife next to his neurology center. (The story is sort of the best part). My favorite are reds, especially Bordeaux and Malbec. The bolder the wine, the more I will love it. I especially like when it has hints of tobacco and oak in the taste. To be honest, to date I don't yet have a favorite apart from regional.

There is an Algerian red wine called 'Pinard' and there is a story behind it too but maybe you should give it a try if you can find it. When I was in the Legion, it used to cost us 80 sous a litre *smile*.

Reds usually give me a horrible headache ... but I do Malbec

I'm trying to expand my wine tastes as well as my beers .....

LOL kallisto, you'll love the name of my favorite beer. "Raging Bitch". It's a Belgian Pale ale and very "hoppy". Made by "flying dog company". And thanks Dvr22999 for the recommendation, I'll look it up now.

LOL ... I love the name. I will have to see if that one is around here. It's funny, but the real hoppy beers taste soapy to me the first 1-2 sips. Once I get past that, I usually like them.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 7:09:19 PM)

Try Three Horses beer from Madagascar. It used to have a picture of three horses on the label and everybody I knew reckoned that was really a picture of where the beer actually came from. It is said that there is no such thing as a bad beer................just wait until you have tasted THAT stuff !!!!

TNDommeK -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 7:15:04 PM)

Thanks yall!
ET, we have recently tried a bunch of different Meads, which I happen to love. My favorite was vikings blod or something of that nature. Right now Im having Presqu'ile. Its not expensive..atleast I dont think. Im not really sure what IS or ISNT. But so far its my fav.

Ill try the others you guys suggested as well.

kallisto -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 7:24:37 PM)

Pinot Grigo isn't as sweet as Moscato .... but most times, even it is too sweet for me. (I just don't do sweet alcoholic drinks of any kind very well)

Kittenluv954 -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 7:28:51 PM)

i love sweet drinks, if no moscato i will have sangria, or sweet red. im also a sucker for mango mojitos but thats besides the (wine) point hehe

Do you like the red or white sangria?

There is a white sangria that Southern Living magazine put out years ago ... it had peaches in it. As sweet as it is ....it was a good sangria. I just took a sip or 2 and that was enough for me. Although I've had some red sangrias that weren't all that sweet.

Kittenluv954 -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 7:35:48 PM)

i always have red, i never knew there was a white... with peaches sounds so refreshing, perfect for springtime

It's called Carolina Peach Sangria ... recipe is out on the net. [:)]

DesFIP -> RE: a wine question (2/7/2015 7:45:29 PM)

In reds, I prefer sangiovese.
Whites, a sauv blanc or a white zin. I like some sweetness.

Most champagnes except not Dom Perignon.

And I like cider. Prefer Woodchuck to Angry Orchard.
