I believe that when two people are in a relationship, keeping the seat down is a reasonable request. I've notice that men have terrible aim when peeing. It's also a reasonable request that he clean up after himself.

So it is an unreasonable request that you put it up once you're finished?

Leaving the seat up is gross. You see all the pee on the rim.

If it's that big of an issue they can both agree to put the cover down after each is finished cleaning up after themselves. They sell decorative seat covers and it makes the bathroom look nice and clean. That's reasonable.

As long as the non-cheap gentlemen buy them.

So that's reasonable, not matter what, right?

Yup. In my world, it's entire cover down. Everyone has to lower and raise with each bathroom break.

Very simple.

Lollll.

I always look before I sit. Sometimes he doesn't flush if it's just pee. Anything that could make falling into the toilet more embarrassing, is if it's full of piss.

I choose my battles, the toilet one isn't big enough.

Guess I'm lucky. My Man pees mostly sitting down. I don't have to worry about the seat being up. That drives me insane! Not that it takes much to get me there. Many moons ago, other guy, his friends would always come over & leave the seat up. They learned NOT to do that after the 3rd or 4th time I dragged one or the other by the ear to lower said seat. They were surprised that meek lil old moi would do such a thing. Turns out pissing me off wasn't a good idea, much to their surprise.

Ha.

My husband always puts the seat down, and the lid.
Maybe I should start insisting he doesn't put the lid down. Too much work for me to have to lift it up.

People really complain about this stuff? I thought it was a joke.

Too dirty to touch the seat to put it down? Does he have a fire hose for a penis where it's spraying everywhere.
I keep my toilets clean and wash my hands after I go. Problem solved.

I don't follow. That's how it works in my home, with my subs. It not only works fairly, but it also protects the world from some of this:

quote:

8 studies since 1955 have documented the validity of toilet flush aerosolization of toilet water bacteria and viruses. In 2012 Best,et al in the Journal of Hospital infection (V80 p1), showed that Clostridium Difficile bacteria from toilet flush aerosolization went airborne whether you put the lid down or not, though less were airborne with the lid down. Fecal clouds can be produced 20 flushes after initial contamination.

God almighty - I'd run a mile from any woman who had those fluffy toilet seat covers. Those are the things that make the seat drop down, without fail, whenever you take a wazz. Women who have fluffy toilet seat covers - and especially those furry toilet-roll covers - just frighten me. I just figure that they shouldn't be living on the same planet as men, that's all. They should just buy in as many gallons of disinfectant as they can and buy a ticket in the first passenger-rocket to the planet Venus.

And women always leave the toilet smelling more stinky than do men. I've noticed that.

Seconded!!!

I've allowed her to have the fluffy bath mat and toilet mat; but I draw the line at matching seat and roll covers!!

Jesus, FD ... that's a level of female primness that I can't even imagine. Don't you live up north? I didn't think they were like that up north. Does your SO rush off the to kitchen and get you a glass if you look as though you're going to drink beer straight from the tin?

For once, I go with the equal treatment, equal rights-Everybody puts the lid down....whether you have to lower the seat in order to close it or not. Such is the law of the land when you have raised two little boys who, as toddlers wanted to "play" in the water and two dogs that think an open toilet is just a water bowl that you don't have to bend down to drink out of.

I have had a husband and a bunch of long term guys and not ONE every put down the toilet seat.

Like someone said, I picked my battles.

I draw the line at flushing, you must flush!
