Tyrant I was just commenting and my last comment was not aimed at you. I have never had any doubt where I stand with you and with SinFix.

bear- I've been the other woman three times- once unknowingly though, and I've been cheated on, at least twice.

You're in good scumbag company. No one is perfect, people learn and grow. I don't think we need scarlet letters (would they be s for scumbag?) condemning us in everyone's eyes for the rest of eternity. it our weight to bare- and if people can't hang because of it- they can move along.

Thanks for your input shifty. What I see is many people forget that we are all human and we do make poor choices in life whether those choices are deliberate or not. I am fully aware that we humans are not perfect yet I can not and will not condemn a person for not fitting into my own sense of morality because my morality code is strictly applicable to me only, otherwise I view people as people even with their perceived flaws.

The first 2 affairs I allowed myself to be part of was for the most part deliberate, deliberate in the fact that not once did I consider saying no. I engaged in them willingly based on my motivations of knowing there was no chance of me making any commitment to a relationship because I was purely looking to have fun...I was not willing nor ready to settle down with anyone.

Would I have another affair........maybe.
Would I deliberately seek one out.......chances are I would not though I know I would think about it and weigh the consequences first.

I love the thought that goes into threads like this. I think we should crown both ET and Nookie as the philosophers of these boards.
I could eat them both up with a spoon ;)

Just for the record, I am down with spoons or hands...

*grins*

UnholyBear, I do not judge you, nor anyone else, really. Certainly not based on a moral code I find silly.

While I have generally shunned married people, simply because I don't think they have the time or attention to give me, (I'm selfish like that), I have never judged them. I have done some DUMB stuff in my life. I have lied for no reason other than it might save me an argument with the one man (my then-husband) I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with...

*shrugs*

I'm more interested in learning about what wonderful things you bring to the world, not to focus on the things that others condemn. I learned that from my mother. About 12 years after she passed.

I'm a slow learner... therefore, I don't judge those who have a hard time grasping these enlightened concepts.

*grins*

Agreed. And Nookie, to be frank, I think sometimes people are adversarial just for the sake of it vs trying to accomplish real understanding. Thankfully I don't give two fucks either way. I say my piece and that is that.

There's a contingent, here, that wants me off this site so badly that they'll bully/harass/attempt intimidation (pick your term) to try to get the job done. They've even suggested a return to democratic process (the last bastion of the clique mentality).

I suggest their memory is short. It's been tried before with less then desirable results (for those that attempted it).

Michael

That's the funniest thing I've ever read. Put me in the contingent that wonders where you get your ideas.

FR,

I won't have to be reminded never to take a day off and go to the doctor or handle business. I am seeing mod work all over the forum. I think this may be a migraine day.

I must say this a few times I think.

Staff are not mediators between feuding members. If anyone thinks we are, they are missing the feature of block, the possibility of not engaging and my personal favorite of not letting someone get too you so easily. Please do not use the forum for any feud you have going with someone else.

We have a lot of repeat topic threads and I see a very busy day ahead of me.

Thank you

I agree. However, I choose not to assume that, and treat them as if they are being 100% serious, and are trying to actually engage me.

Beyond agreements, I find it hard to understand why you think I should expect something, anything, from someone I don't know, and who doesn't know me.

Or why you would question "my own" standards...

Living in a society belies these sentiments. Of course just about everyone expects things from others. It's why we have laws. Well, when others fall short of those expectations is why we have laws.

I'm not going to go through all the examples. You know to what I refer.

Our expectations belong to us; its an internal thing. Unfortunately when we project those expectations onto someone else, we set ourselves up for failure.

If I could expect people to obey laws or to conform to society, I would not need to lock doors, ever.

I do not expect it. I hope for it, but I certainly do not expect it. So, I'm not exactly sure I do know to what you refer.

As a aside, you really have a thing for the way you view the world being the be-all-end-all for everyone, don't you?

There was no need for this. I have accorded you courtesy. You return ad hominem and slander.

We're done.

Regarding the anti-X crowd...

I think some people in this milieu seek to feel that they are part of a community... the problem is that BDSM is a milieu with no set rules or protocols, and technically nothing is "right" or "wrong" (excluding the illegal).

This can make it difficult for people to feel like they are part of a coherent community (or clique). The lack of structure provides them with no yardstick to determine who is part of the group and who is not, so they set about defining what is right and what is wrong in order to distinguish themselves from those who are not part of their group.

That's my opinion anyway... and that is how I see the "one true way" advocates.

Happily it is not, in my experience, an overly common phenomenon... but it is common enough to be occasionally annoying.

Re: Pro Dommes... I always thought peoples' annoyance was more with their marketing tactics than with the activity itself (shrug).
